NEVER buy a Bushnell telescope, or a Tasco, these are DEPARTMENT store telescopes.

Instead buy from a regular telescope retailer here are two:

Can I use any household items as toys for my birds?

If you are looking for something around the house to use as a toy for your bird, my number one recommendation would be an empty paper towel roll. Birds can get a lot of enjoyment from this and the best part is that they are free. My friend also likes to give her birds plastic baby toys.

What types of bird ladders are most popular?

The most popular types of bird ladders are made from either wood or plastic. There are a few other varieties of ladders that are highly recommended, including both formable and swing styles.

The links below will give you examples of the former styles.

What kind of perch should my budgie sleep on?

As long as you provide a variety of perches in your bird's cage, the choice of which to use for sleeping is up to your bird. Your bird most likely knows, instinctively, where they want to sleep. The only type of perch I would recommend not allowing your bird to sleep on is a sandpaper perch. My personal favorite perch style for sleeping is a Booda perch.

What is a heated bird perch?

Heated perches are great for providing your bird with great circulation for their feet. They are highly recommended for exotic birds. Most heated perches are controlled using a thermostat and are most commonly made from a scratch and bite resistant non-toxic plastic.

Here are some examples of good quality heated bird perches:

What's your problem? Our bird cage finish is chipping. Can I paint it myself?

My recommendation is to call the manufacturer for paint recommendations and, believe it or not, some cage manufacturers will do that for you. In any event, you must make sure the paint is nontoxic since most birds do scratch it with their beak. After painting Make sure you let it dry completely: Permit the paint to dry for at least 48 hours before moving your bird into the cage, so be prepared to have a secondary cage on hand. Also you should know that although paint may be nontoxic when dry, there are paints may be harmful to your bird if inhaled, so paint it as far as you can from your birds, outdoor area preferred.

Retail price of a celestron 21044

Not more than about $79 dollars.-- this is what we call a "department store" telescope. It will have a mostly plastic focuser and may even have plastic eyepieces--

I would recommend that you do not buy it. The reality is that you must spend at least about $200 to buy a useable telescope.

Read this:

Also never buy a telescope that advertises MAGNIFICATION on the outside of the box.
A pair of 10x50mm binoculars would be better for star gazing than that telescope.

Can you tell me if Model 78-1518 is suitable for astronomical use, does it mean images will be upside down? It is for someone just starting to do a bit of star gazing. Is this model a reflector or a...

This is a spotting scope, mostly used in conjunction with firearms on the firing range or maybe hunting. It is a terrestrial refractor scope and shows erect images (the right way up). It isn't really ideal for astronomy.

One would generally want a larger diameter objective and a simpler eyepiece system (not a zoom) for stargazing. Some people start astronomy with a pair of binoculars (7x50), which would be as good or better than this for the purpose. Eventually you will want to see faint objects which requires a larger objective (main lens or mirror) to gather enough light and give good resolution. The upside down thing doesn't matter when looking at stars.

Have 46060525-cant see far?

This is a 60mm refractor, not much bigger than a 10x50mm pair of binoculars. You will be able to see a few of the brighter sky objects like the moon, Jupiter, Saturn, M42, M45 (part of it), you will have a very narrow field of view.

The 10x50mm binoculars would have been better for star gazing. Sorry.
