Question about Garmin GPS
Since you've already tried the standard reset method, and it doesn't work, try this in case you don't have the manual.
Slide the Power switch to the left for about 10-15 seconds. If this doesn't fire it back to life, then you may have electronic problems with the unit. You might also try the reset hole method again, but use the 10-15 second press-in rule for that too.
Since you've left it installed and plugged into your vehicle all these years, it would not be unheard of to have heat damage after all this time. I know you don't need to hear this, but it can happen. The battery may be finally defective also, but that shouldn't affect using the unit with external power.
Ask the Factory or your service center how much it would cost to repair, and you may decide to just buy another unit in order to come out cheaper.
