It sure make it a lot easier ,and you can do a better job if you remove the front panel,.Mainly because where the boot goes over the tub alignment is important, and this way its easy to position the clamp in the right spot and watch it while you are tightening..Good Luck

Water leaking from front door. Needs new diaphragm. Do I need to dismantle machine for install? Thanks

yes you will, good news samsung is one of the easy ones,, first unplug the unit, then take two screws out of top on the back,, push the top cover back and off,,,,,,, then take the screws out of the top of the control panel tilt it forward then up,, you will now see more screws remove these also, open the door and look at the bottom of the gasket, you will see a spring on a wire ring, take a small flat head and remove the ring,, fold the gasket back into the unit,, then moving back to the top push in the tabs and the front should tilt forward,, you will need to reach down inside the unit and unplug the door lock then the front panel can be took off,, take the weights off be carefull they are heavy to be small, then locate the back clamp that holds the gasket and remove it,, install the new one, just like the old one came off,,MAKE SURE THE GASKET SITS IN THE GROVE THEN INSTALL THE CLAMP AND WEIGHTS, THEN INSTALL THE REST OF THE PARTS IN THE SAME ORDER YOU TOOK THEM OFF,, when you are putting the outside spring back on it will be kinda hard,, do not use any tools as you will tear the new gasket,, but make sure it sits in the grove

I have a Samsung front load washer model # WF317AAG with a torn gasket. I have the new gasket, but I do not know how to install it, can you provide install instructions?

to properly install this you nee to remove the retaining spring on the front of the boot.
then remove the lid.
next remove the four screws that hold the control panel in place.
then remove the four screws that hold the fron panel in place ther may also be two screws on the bottom of the front panel.
once you remove the front panel you need to set it aside but the door lock switch is still attached so be carefull.
one you remove the front panel you can get to the other retaing spring and remove the boot.it is easier for me to also remove the counter weights on the front of the tub.to put the boot back on.i hope this helps would like to here more on your progress

Duet leaking out the front door. They replaced

Hello LPeck, This is a pretty common issue with all front loading washers. Typically it has to do with the door bellows (gasket) that seals the door to the washer cabinet.

First, look very carefully at the gasket all the way around, using a flashlight. Pay close attention to the area where the water flows into the washer. This is usually located on the upper part of the gasket and sometimes the water inlet port gets the gasket moved out of place and when the water is flowing into the washer, it can leak outside of the gasket. Make sure that the gasket is properly located around the water inlet port and that the gasket does NOT extend past the water nozzle.

The other thing to do is again look very carefully at the entire gasket for small cuts or tears that might be allowing water to leak out. Even a small cut can allow alot of water to leak out of the wash tub, so carefully push/pull the gasket with your fingers while shining the flashlight onto it.

In almost all cases, it is a cut or torn gasket that is the source of the leak.

This is an easy self-service repair, only requiring a few basic hand tools to remove the gasket bellows from the washer cabinet and inner wash tub. Just fold the back lip from the washer cabinet and you'll see the retainer wire that holds the bellows onto the cabinet. With that removed, you can then slip the bellows gasker off the cabinet lip and see and get at the inner wash tub retaining clamp. Typically held on with a large diameter hose clamp. Remove that and you're ready to install the new one in the reverse order.

Just be sure to let the new gasket lay out to help get most of the kinks out of it, from being in the small shipping box, and install it slowly and carefully, so not to put any cuts in it.

This will save you around $150 +/- instead of having a service tech do the installation/repair for you.

If you want to see and order the part yourself, you can go to the following link to see the gasket and how it is installed. You can order it online from sears, or any place you wish.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

I have a GE front loader that leaks from the bottom, any ideas what it is from?

Is it coming from the front? You can take the bottom panel off and look inside. If the middle is not wet, it may be from a torn door gasket. Pull back the rubber seal on the machine (not the door) and you may see a big tear. That's what happened to ours. We ordered a new one on ebay and we are installing it now.

Lg front load washer leaking from bottom of machine

I just fixed this problem - there is a rubber hose that hooks the bottom of the drum to the drain and recycle pumps - it is ribbed and it developed a hole. To confirm and repair (repair can be done from the front of the machine)
  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Drain whatever water you can from the machine using the stoppered hose behind the bottom left panel
  3. Unscrew the visible screw holding the plastic in place near the drain hose and filter
  4. If you can pull the plastic recessed piece out, there is one screw visible behind it - unswcrew this. If you cannot pull it out now, you should be able to get it after you remove the screws in step 10
  5. Pull out the detergent drawer (push in the middle back "botton" to release the drawer to pull out fully)
  6. Unscrew two screws in the drawer area.
  7. Pull the top of the electronics assembly away from the machine and lift the assembly out (place on top of the machine or hook it out of the way)
  8. Open the door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door seal (be careful as the seal can be torn)
  9. Pull the seal away from the metal front panel, then close the door
  10. Remove four screws at the top of the front panel (that were behind the eletronics assembly) - If you already have removed the screw from step 4, proceed, otherwise lean the top of front panel out and pop the plastic out, hold panel in place and remove that bottom screw from step 4.
  11. Lift front panel about two inches, swing the entire front panel to the right and set against something - You should now be able to see inside the machine.
  12. There is a black hose right in the middle - when I squeezed mine a little, I could see where the water was dripping out from the bottom.
  13. There are three clamps - two that can be squeezed with pliers and removed, one that has to be unscrewed (phillips head screw - it is a bit blind as the screw faces the back of the machine) - Once I got mine off - I could see the hole.
  14. Order replacement and reassmble in the opposite order

Front load washer leaks

It's not difficult to line up the boot around the door. The difficult part is taking out the tub (basket and plastic shell). Everything needs to be disconnected, and removed from the back, as well the tub is very heavy and best to do as a two person job.

If your washer is only 5 years old, it's kind of a 50/50. The cost (with labour) to fix the leak would come to approx $450 cdn.

Washer leaking

It may have torn the gasket or just have a sock stuck in it.
you can remove the bottom panel to help look.
(3 screws on bottom front lip)
remove ac power
you cannot operate with bottom door removed as it has a safety switch.
While you are down there open the filter and look for trapped debris.
ready for some water , have towels ready.

I have an H3 washing machine and the rubber bellow lip that seals the front door from leaking has torn causing water to leak out. Can this bellow be repaired or easily removed and replaced without calling a service repairman.
