Sound loss after windows xp install

posted by elpueco on May 17, 2008

A common problem I know but no common solutions. I have a Creative sound blaster 2zs card installed. I'm now using Win xp home, having changed from win 2000 pro.
I've tried various driver downloads from Creative but the best result I get is front and one surround channel working but no centre or rear left.
I know my wiring is ok 'cos I have a white noise test on my processor which shows everything is ok. All speakers are live, just not through my sound card.
Help.....I'm losing the will to live.....

no, sorry mate and thanks for the advice, but problem remains no matter which speaker config. I try.
I was condsidering buying a creative DTS-610, which according to their (Creative's),blurb should solve my problem.......inasmuch as I could then put my audio signal out in true digital via an optical cable. I suspect I might have a dead analogue input on my processor which would explain a lot..................................Now all I have do do is find one.....

Hey Amigo - relax - do you have the Creative sound center installed. There are many options. Do you have it set for 4 speakers? Let me know. If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If not, DO NOT RATE YET. Just add a comment letting me know what's going on and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks.
