Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have an Akai GX-400D.ss. The function buttons...'REC'-'REV'-'STOP'-'FWD'-'FFWD' do not operate. The relays have been cleaned and contacts are operating. All other operative functional buttons, toggles, switches etc seem to be working normally.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Function Key Problem

your keyboard driver may be corrupt, go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down list to keyboards, click '+' sign, right click on your keyboard and select uninstal. Restart your notebook and the keyboard and drivers will be reinstalled automatically and should be as normal, but check for any updated drivers at Sony:- http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&m=2303

SOURCE: all functions have ceased to operate - the reset

Pooky

Indeed the buttons (pushers or pusher contacts) may have been jammed internally. The are a small piece of metal which is pushed my a cylindrcal rod (which you are pushing the outer part of it into the pusher contact).

Sometimes the pusher contact may have come out of alignment. or did you change the battery yourself? did you a/c it properly? (metal tweezer from the a/c with the battery)?

Hope this helps or sheds so light on your situation

SOURCE: akai gx-625 reel to reel tape deck has no sound

This could be a head fault? Another possibilty is the preamp stage. You will need to look for something that would take out both channels. Such as an IC.

Need a starter for 3 phase motor with only two buttons, one for farward & another for reverse.button should be bell switch type, when presssed and hold, motor should run and should stop when released.

You will need a fwd-rev starter (has two contactors) You can buy any brand. You should have three buttons fwd stop rev
You could wire it so the fwd latches until stop is pressed, and the rev button momentairly so it stops when finger is removed. If you buy a brand with a general purpose (NEMA 1 ) enclosure you could put buttons in the cover, some even have buttons made for their covers.

Accessing the menu and timer recordings

Oh boy! Most late VCRs must have a functional remote to get to the advanced functions such as setting time, programming, etc. The front panel buttons only have stop/play/rewind/ffwd/eject and so forth. Either obtain an exact remote, or one of aftermarket universal remote boxes which have menu functions.

Not Able to Record/Playback

can't record on the my Olympus VN-1000
+ I press rec button and it just shows rec in display (no recording time is shown ONLY rec)
+ there is no play back  or stop function

+ i can only stop  rec by removing batteries (stop or play will stop rec only ONCE - but there is no  useful function - such as play or stop or rec.)
+ I tried all trouble shooting tips in manual  with no effect
+  i cleaned the spring contacts inside battery compartment that interface with the  batteries
+ it was barely used - and has not been used for a 1 year ( no batteries were inside it )     it was inside a drawer
THANK YOU

Recording Still images To The Memory Stick M.REC mode (Memory RECORD mode) 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD. 2. Set the power switch to CAMERA. 3. Press the PHOTO button. The still image is recorded to the Memory Card. To View photos on the Memory Card M.PLAY mode (Memory PLAYBACK mode) 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD. 2. Set the power switch to PLAYER. The last recorded image appears. If there are no recorded images on the Memory Card, NO STORED PHOTO! or NO STORED MPEG4! will display on the screen. 3. Using the (FWD) and (REV) buttons, search for the desired still image. * To view the next image : press the (FWD) button. * To view the previous image : press the (REV) button. * Pressing (FWD) when you are on the last image will take you to the first image and pressing (REV) when you are on the first image will take you to the last image. * Keep pressing (FWD) or (REV) to search for an image quickly.
