If lamp has not been replaced in last 2-3 years then its time to replace it.
If tv standby light does not turn into red blinking then it is lamp problem that has reached to end of working hours life and requires replacement because red standby blinking light shows problem with tv hardware but green blinking light shows rest is fine inside tv but just lamp is older/ weak.

I would recommend to replace complete lamp and buy from nearest Sony Store for good picture in tv.

Hi welcomjee, I have another TV of the same type. It goes on and sound works but no picture. Standby light is also normal. Ive tried new lamp but didnt help. Any idea what the problem might be?
