You need to reinstall the driver for your rom, which is wierd...it may just require generic drivers off the windows cd, or you may have to download drivers from the manufacturers' website.

the driver of that device was corrupt. the driver of cd/dvd rom is built in operating system. your first step is to open device manage then right click my computer then click properties then click device manager tab then double click the cd/dvd rom drives then right click the dvd device and click update update driver software and follow screen instruction.

No cd rom

good morning! please try to check the jumper settings (Master/Slave) as well as the cable connections of your CD ROM, if still CD Drive doesn't work, kindly try to connect/use another CD ROM - if this work, then the previous CD ROM laser lens is defective. best regards

CD-ROM drive doesn't load/play CDs or DVDs on laptop computer.

Hi,
Check device manager for marks, red cross's etc...on the devices list, look in here,

Start, control panel , system/maintainance,
device manager, disk drive in here, right click, scan for hardware changes, update diver,

or double click it, driver tab, try roll back, or update & search, internet needed,
if no light's or no activity after this and all connections are good, ESD kit, needed to test that, then it's drive failure.

Check the media on different Computer, if it functions
You have just confirmed it.

Regards.
RPF.
