Can not open the case on a emachine t1831

Remove ALL cords plugged into the computer. Lay the computer on it's side with indent facing up and remove two large thumb screws from back. Pull the side towards the back using the indent for leverage. If it is really stuck insert a small flat blade the in the slot between the front cover and side and CAREFULLY twist as you slide the blade from to bottom. The side needs to slide towards the back before it can be removed.

a dell for only 40 bucks that is really a bargain. I'd make sure it works really well before buying it and then there is the transfer of data that is required which takes some planning.

My son deciced to try to fix his computer and he disconnected everything in the tower of a emachine t2825, i have no idea where anything goes, is there a way i can get a diagram or something to help me

General if it fits it in the right spot. With the acception of the power button and lights in the front.

Follow this guide link below(2nd link) and you should be fine. Its not really that big of a deal most likely he forgot to plug in the power button.(1st link) The mother board should be labeled right next to the correct pins but it is really tiny.

Can an eMachine computer be configured for wireless use?

You would need to purchase a wireless card. The card will come with the software you need or you can use Windows to configure.

Try the D-Link DWL-G510 or similar.

Ram upgrade

In most cases if you put of not thesame capacity in any computer later will create further problems. it can damage the other memory or both and the worse is when also the motherboard will also damage.

That is why im telling you this. Please prevent inserting memory of two or three different capacity. You should not do that.

You should select etheir use all 256mb or all 512mb or all 1gb.

in the T4200 since max. is 1.5gb, either use 3-512mb if can carry the maximum if not , then use only 2-512mb.

in T3624 since max is 2GB. You can try 2-1gb if can carry the maximum if not, use only 1-1gb.

Note:
You can use or inserting at different capacity but is at your own risk. "

Ps. does no matter either you put smaller or bigger in first slot.
