Media converter for philips crashes

I haven't found any solutions to this problem yet and I have really searched through the internet a hundred times and I still don't know what to do! So any help is appreciated.
So here's my problem: whenever i try to convert something with the converter on the product cd (arcsoft media converter for philips) the programme crashes and windows has to restart again. I never had that problem and I'm sure that the video I'm trying to convert is not damaged and in an appropiate format.
Please help.

Try getting the latest release of the Media Converter software from www.usasupport.philips.com - just enter your model number, and go to the software and drivers section. In general, later software releases add support for Windows Vista, WMP-11, and other more recent computer configurations.

How do I connect to download U-Tube???

Ok, please note that the videos downloaded directly from the internet may not work properly on the player. You have to first convert them into a format that is suitable to the player using Philips media converter.

Download the Philips Media Converter software. Make sure corresponding Codec for playing videos is installed before downloading. The codecs are required to play videos on your player. To download Codec, you can:

1. Go to www.download.com/windows
2. Search for "directshow codec pack"
3. Download and install one of the codec packs from the list of results

Now to download video, connect your player to the PC and click the icon "Internet video downloader" at your desktop.

Open the youtube site. Move the cursor over the video you want to download until you see the Download icon. Double click on the icon to enable download.

After downloading, the Media Converter for Philips will then start to convert the video to the format that suits your player. If your player is connected to the PC, the video will be transferred to the player automatically.

I cant seem to be able to use my media converter for philips.I instaled it from my philips GoGear VIBE disk and it says I have to download alot of other stuf with it.

Ok, firstly, media converter is for video files only. For music use Windows media player or you can simply drag and drop files to your music folder under your gogear device.

Also videos downloaded directly from the internet may not work properly on the player.

Now to download video (suppose from youtube), connect your player to the PC and click the icon "Internet video downloader" at your desktop.
Open the website where your desired video clip locates. Move the cursor over the video you want to download until you see the Download icon. Double click on the icon to enable download.

After downloading, the Media Converter for Philips will then start to convert the video to the format that suits your player. If your player is connected to the PC, the video will be transferred to the player automatically.

I have a Philips GoGear Vibe (4GB)the model is SA2VBE04K/02 i also convert videos to my gogear bt when i click on the video it shows "File format not supported" i also dont have Media Converter...

If your player cannot play a video then itis an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video fileto a format that your MP3 player uses. There are commercial and freeware videoconverters on the Internet. Use Google to search for Video converters. I foundthese converters useful, Kate's Video converter, Any Video converter and CIVideo Converter. I suggest you try some freeware typesfirst and convert a video file, then test this converted video file on your MP3player. To copy/download your video files to yourMP3 player, connect the USB cable from the MP3 player to the USB port on thecomputer. Open the video folder on the MP3 player and copy and paste the videofile/s from the computer to the video folder on the MP3 player.

I DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT VIDEOS ON MY GO GEAR VIBE

Hello,

Support for GoGear Vibe can found selecting your model on next page:
http://www.search.philips.com/search/search?q=GoGear+Vibe&s=all&l=global&h=all&o=
Select your model from the list.

Under Software and Drivers look for the download of Philips Media Converter Software, in the support page matching your player.
Install and run Philips Media Converter for conversion and transfer of your videos.

When wanting to put videos of e.g. YouTube onto your player, first download the latest codecs for video:
http://www.download.com/windows
Download and install the "directshow codec pack".
To start a download of video from YouTube, click the Internet Video Downloader.lnk icon in the right corner below of the computer screen.

How can i put music videos on 2 my mp3 player

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert/transfer videos. If the converter is not recognizing a specific video type - FLV, for instance - download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder and convert the videos to AVI format first. Then the Philips Media Converter will recognize them.

The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

If you are getting a codec error, do a google search for free video codecs - they are out there. Windows Codec Pack and downloading the latest version of quicktime will give you most of these needed codecs.

This player is not capable of playing copyright-protected videos - so don't even bother with them.

Additional information is available both from Philips website and from Arcsoft's website.

Philips media converter wil not convert all my videos. I cannot convert my videos to my player

You can get codecs by installing the latest version of quicktime, or by separately finding mpeg-2, mpeg-4, and avi codecs - just do an internet search. They're available for free.

The videos that are not converting are either:
1) Too long
2) Copyrighted music videos
3) In a format that the converter cannot recognize. Get the Riva FLV Encoder - it can convert FLV to AVI, or anything else to AVI.
