Question about Fujitsu fi-5120C

1 Answer

FI-5120C won't scan

We have been scanning all morning. Now the scanner will not scan. We commence a scan from our Input Manager, and we get the error: "Communication failed. Make sure that the power is on, the cable is firmly connected, and the scanner is not used by another application. For details refer to manual for driver user's guide. (Code DS42019)." Then another message pops up: "The current scanner is not available. The most often occurs when the scanner has been unplugged or has been turned off." We have checked power and cable, no problems. Have cancelled all jobs we have tried to scan. Any advice appreciated.

Fujitsu fi5120c scanning every other page

hi, it sounds like the scanner is multifeeding, and as you have it set to A4 once that length is scanned, its just getting rid of the rest and starting the new page. Try cleaning or replacing the separation pad, or to prove the fault, hold the 2nd sheet until the 1st is scanned and its trying to pick thyen 2nd.

hope that helps, let me know how you get on.

5120C does not retain settings betwen scans. I tell it to skip blank pages and it does it on the 1st scan but not subsequent scans.

unfortunatly these settings are only temporary. If you go to the main settings you just may be able to set it permanitly (if i spelt that right...)

Scanning speed slowed...

did you change your scan resoulution? The quality of your scans will determine how slow it will pass through. another thing to check is weather it is scanning both sides, another option in your scanner properties.

Fi 5120c will not scan sheets that have different color entries

Check the software settings in the scanning software. Try running scandisk in the OS. Check if the scanner is working with any other comp. If it works, may be your OS is corrupted.

Invalid orientation/long scan combination. Check the KScan ScanDirectionCap and ScanContinuousCap properties and set ScanDirection and ScanContinuous accordingly is for error 20080 and for 20090 means Peripheral stopped by user. Stop button was pressed.
