SOURCE: Whenever I turn on my laptop I get the Error:

You have a device that is attempting to use the same IRQ as another device that has loaded before it. Go into the device manager and look for a device that has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside. You may find a couple.... Open the device properties and see if you get some indication of which other device it is having conflicts with. Then it is a matter of uninstalling one of the devices and rebooting, letting Windows re-detect the device and install it again...hopefully with the correct IRQ assignment this time.

SOURCE: getting the following error on

If it is not making it to Windows at all...Generally occurs when two devices are using the same IRQ or memory allocation. This can sometimes be set in BIOS depending on the manufacturer etc. I would start by going in BIOS and restoring the default settings. There should be a menu item in BIOS usually something like "Restore Default".
If it is making it to windows then you probably just have a missing or corrupt driver. Generally this would fall under a chipset driver which can be downloaded for free from hp's site. You can also download and run Everest or SIW to properly id the device in question.

Check that the Green and Orange LED's on the Main PCA are ON. If they are not ON, the Power Supply or its connections are defective. If the two LED's are ON and the error continues, replace the Hard Drive. If the error continues, replace the Main PCA.

I would firstly reboot and if that doesn't clear the error run asc.setup utility to remove crosslinked files and sort out a crosslinked registry. Failing that remove the driver from the Control Panel and let the OS set up a fresh driver. Make sure the driver is the correct one!

You should try clearing the cmos battery. It's a small battery on the motherboard that can be taken off. Take it off for 20 minutes and put it back in. Then boot up again.

Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard Bus:0A, Device:09, Function:00 = CARDREADER PROBLEM

I did try all that, and it didnt work, on a 5050 acer built on a 3100 gabinet.

I think that the problem is that the cardreader chip is not well glued to the motherboard, that's why it gives you that error. If you try pressing certain points of the computer while booting, it miraculously stops giving that conflict error.

We should be payed back by Acer, as this is an project issue =P

Laptop will not fully start

This could be a device failure. However, try flashing the bios. Do this by going to Acer's support site and creating a bootable disc with the bios or updated bios, if there is any, on it. Then run this in your machine. You will have to use a different computer to do this, apparently. If this doesn't fix the problem, then you will need to take it in and have a tech run down the device that failed.
