There's an option that allows you to hide track display or turn it on... find it and enable the feature if you want to see the songs.

Deleting tracks off 4gb sa2640 gogear

The files are not deleted from the device but moved to the recycle bin. To completely remove the files from the MP3 player, use the following procedure:
1. Open Windows Explorer by double clicking the My Computer icon on your desktop.
2. Click on the Tools menu and select Folder Options.
3. Select the Tab View and check to select the Show hidden Files and Folders option.
4. Navigate to the device. A folder called recycle bin is available. Completely remove this folder from the device.Once the recycle bin folder is removed, the files are completely removed from the device and the free space is available.

Songs wont upload to player

What format was the track in? If is was some weird format (.ogg .pca .m64 ect) The player may not reconize it.

When you Plug in the player and the box appears saying "what do ya wanna do?" Choose Open folder to view files. look around for the track. Click, storage media. Just click on possible folders on your mp3 player. If it DOES show up on your computer, then the format of the track is not right for the player. Try downloading Audio Converters (you can find them on Cnet, ect) And convert it to a more universal format. (WMA, MP3, ect)

Hope this helped!

Drivers for Multimedia Player

Ignore the disc that comes with the player.
If using windows media player I simply ripped the tracks off the cd into mp3 to get them into the windows media library then synched the tracks to the player.
When you connect the USB cord between the computer and the player, windows media player will recognise it and show it in the left side bar.
Click on the mp3 player icon and then synch the tracks into the plyer list to import to the player (right side bar) I simply synch them all then remove the ones I dont want or drag and drop the mp3s from my media library into the player list to be synched.
Ignore totally the disc that comes with the player it is not required I think its only for 98 users to make it work it is not required with XP or Vista simply upload tracks to the player using a media player such as windows or real player.
So rip mp3s from the cd you want ....
When in mp3 mode (ignore if already mp3 on your pc) click the player icon when connected to the pc with the USB cable then select synch.

I added songs to my mp3 player and now it's frozen. It worked before I added the new music. It turns on but it won't do anything else including turn off. I changed the battery but that didn't...

Could be that one of the tracks you have loaded is copy protected (DRM) some players just skip these tracks, some show a "File format not supported" error, and others freeze.

Go to the folder where you store the tracks you have loaded on to the player using My Computer or Windows Explorer, so that the individual tracks show.

Click on the Views icon and select Details

In the right hand windows, right click on one of the headings which have just appeared, and put a tick in the "Protected" box.

"Protected" will now appear as a heading and each file will show Yes or No.

Any files showing as Yes are not compatible with your player.

If you are downloading these files from the internet, then you'll have to look elsewhere for files.

If you are ripping your own CDs to .MP3 or .WMA with Windows Media Player, then you need to change a setting in Windows Media Player.

Open Windows Media Player. If visible, click on "Tools" then options. If the menus are not visible, right-click at the top of the Media Player Window, then select "Tools" and click options.

Click on the "Rip CD" or "Rip Music" tab (depending on version).

Remove the tick from the box next to "Copy Protect Music" (or similar)

This will stop DRM protection on any further tracks ripped.

You will need to rip any DRM tracks again.

Go Gear 2gb

First of all you need to restore the player.
Install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.
Select the Repair/Restore option and follow the on-screen prompts. This will format the player and re-load the firmware.

The HDD1830 is only fully compatible with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10. If you have Windows Media Player 11 you will need to uninstall it. This will roll it back to version 10.

Tracks must be transferred to the HDD1830 using the Media Player Sync function.

The HDD1830 is only compatible with .MP3 or .WMA music tracks. It is not compatible with iPod .AAC tracks.

Mp3 player freezing up when i try 2 play music

This problem is usually caused by protected tracks. (DRM)

If you have copies of the tracks on your PC, then open "My Computer" and go to the folder where they are stored.

Change the view setting to Details.

If "Protected" doesn't appear as a heading in the file window, then right click on one of the headings and select protected.

Protected will now appear as another heading, and each track will show Yes or No.

If any of the tracks show yes, then delete them from the player, and then restart it.
(You can also delete all tracks from the player, and load tracks that show "No" back on to the player.)

My sony walkman NW-A1000 wont show any of my songs i put on it!!

firstly all the tracks you want must be converted into mp3 format. You can get hold off mp3 converter software such as Power and winlame. also all the tracks you want has to be imported into the Connect Player software. you should have a cd that comes with the player, it is similar to iTunes with the iPod. i think you can possibly download it from the sony website. when you have them both convert the tracks into mp3s and then import them into the Connect player. From Connect you will be able to transfer the music across. Hope it helps
