Question about Pc America Restaurant Pro Express

We just installed Restaurant Pro Express and we have a pop up on the screen that says there is an error. This happens when we close out a tab and the pop up occurs.The message says, Run Time Script Location Invoice_Store. After we ignore the error, and swipe the customer's credit card, the program charges the credit card twice. Can you help?

    I have Restaurant Pro Express installed in my bar. For some reason, I when I go to close out a tab on a credit card, on occasion I get a Script Error Code when I swipe the card and it prints out duplicate invoices on that one tab. It double charges the customer twice on that one transaction. It somehow splits it. So I would have to go and void both of them out and run it again. Anyway of making this stop happening? Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Which version of resturant pro do you have as well as what operating system(s) are you using it on.. download any updates and install them as well as update the .net framework .. chances are your machine is missing a hot fix..

Hi Judy,
You probably have it set to combine lines on invoices. Go to your options screen. Select SETUP, then SETUP SCREEN. Click the INVOICE SETTINGS tab, then uncheck COMBINE LINES, click UPDATE, then EXIT. Now each item should display on its own line.

Hi bearf195,
By automatic sign off, I'll assume you mean logging off cashier after each transaction. Go to OPTIONS, SETUP, SETUP SCREEN. Click the INVOICE SETTINGS tab. Check the box for PROMPT CASHIER ID. Click UPDATE and your all set.

Does it send to kitchen at all? When you hit resend, are items listed set to go to kitchen in inventory setup? If they are, you may need to reload/repair RPE.

How do I disable cash drawer from opening upon closing a cash sale for a server carrying their own bank?


You could disable permission to end transactions. This would stop cash drawer pop but might not be feasable for your operation.

Restaurant Pro Express keeps logging out after each transaction


To correct this, go to OPTIONS, SETUP, SETUP SCREEN. Click the INVOICE SETTING tab. On PAGE 1, uncheck the box for PROMPT CASHIER ID. Click UPDATE. Then log out and back in. You should now be able to ring up sales without system logging you out.

Cannot close server shift due to open tickets that have a preauthorization for credit card but cannot close after adding tip amount.


Not sure if this will help your situation, but it won't hurt to try. Go to OPTIONS, SETUP, SETUP SCREEN. Click the SYSTEM ACCESS tab, then the TIME CLOCK tab. Try changing the EOD ALLOWANCE. Try setting to ignore time clock and allow EOD with on hold transactions.

I need to add a tip line for credit card transactions. This has been fixed 4 times before and keeps coming back to haunt me.


Go to your OPTIONS screen, choose SETUP, click on the SETUP SCREEN, click the RESTAURANT FEATURES tab, then click the TIPS tab. Choose YES for the first option. You can also print a suggested tip and percentage underneath this, if desired.

Restaurant Pro Express - Will not let me do "End of Day". A Message pops up that says: "There is still 1 table currently open. Please close these tables before running End Of Day Function." I never set...


Just uncheck the option to have the End of Day check whether there are open tables.
Go to Manager/Options -> Setup -> Setup Screen -> System Access -> Time Clock -> and check "Ignore Time Clock"

Your getting a connection successful because your looking at the localhost. The server would be the network name of your server. And the password is case sensitive and is pcAmer1ca. (Note the number 1, not an i)
