Question about Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy LS Sound Card

1 Answer

I have a Sony vaio,rz46g was working fine. I upgraded the hard drive from 200g to 500g. Then upgraded the vid card with a Nvidia 7600 (5200 had fan noise). Now there is no sound except on boot up. Using xp pro SP2. Tried reinstalling the sound card, updating drivers ect. with no results. No issues in devise manager. The hard was ghosted with no errors. So, I undid everything just mentioned, and it works fine. Why was there no sound?

1. You may have the sound disabled in the mixer. This is a default when installing a new sound card.
2. If you have Windows 7 you may have to run your card in the Windows XP mode if there are no drivers from the manufacturer yet available.
3. check the volume control also in the Windows task bar to see if it is set to "0" this is also common when changing sound cards.
4. You also may have to disable the sound card on *********** board via the BIOS to enable your new sound card.

Hi, own a Sony Vaio VGN P530H with hardisk Toshiba MK6028GAL damaged. as forced to replace unit, wonder could install a higher capacity? Brand & model if available please!!! thanks to all of you!!!

The VAIO VGN-T350 is a notebook computer designed and distributed by Sony.
The hard drive on your Sony VAIO VGN-T350, which is the unit that stores data, consists of many clusters of data that can be rewritten with new data.
If you are looking for a memory capacity upgrade, or if your old hard drive is having errors, it's time for an upgrade.
Upgrading the hard drive on your Sony VAIO will require the use of a screwdriver and will take you about 30 minutes to complete.

Turn off your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and remove the power cord and any other peripheral components.
Turn over your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and locate the hard drive chamber on the bottom of your laptop. It will be clearly labeled.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screw holding the lid in place.
Gently lift the hard drive and its cage away from your laptop and disconnect the data cord.
Remove the four screws located at the corners, and then remove your old hard drive from its cage.
Place your new internal laptop hard drive into the cage and replace the screws.
Connect the data cord to your new hard drive and place your new hard drive into its chamber.
Close the lid and replace the screw to complete the operation.

Ebay this hard drive should fit there are smaller capacity drives that will be compatible.

I am trying to find out if a Sony Vaio with ATI Mobilty Radeon 9200 can be upgraded to Windows 7.

Sony Vaio VGN-A250 is a good choice.
  • Intel Pentium M 725 (1.6GHz, 2MB Cache)
  • 512MB PC2700 DDR Memory (2GB Maximum)
  • 80GB Hard Drive
  • 4x DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
  • 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) LCD and ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 with 64MB Memory
  • AC'97 Audio
  • v.90 56Kbps Modem, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g Wireless
  • Three USB 2.0, One FireWire, One Type II PC Card Slot and MS Slot
  • 14.8" x 10.9" x 1.8" @ 7.3 lbs.
  • Windows XP Home, MS Works, WinDVD, Quicken, Norton Internet Security, Sony Suite

It will be upgradeable to Windows 7 if you install more memory (2GB DDR Max.)

Can I do a memory upgrade on Sony VGC -LS 37E?

the specs for your computer, it states that it is equipped with 2gb of memory 2x1gb and max at 2gb, so I doubt that any higher memory upgrade installed would work, or else it would cause your system to crash or even damage it.

Vaio vgn-sz430n upgrade to Win 7 from Vista

Yea, should not have a problem, but i do believe you will need to get the Nvidia drivers for windows 7. However, that should not be the case, when i did an upgrade I didn't need the drivers, I got them any way, so I will recommend to go to Nvidia website and get the drivers for the video card you have.

Nvidia 7400 card dowsnt work with windows 7

Here is the link from where you can download NVIDIA 7400 driver for windows 7.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_win7_179.48_beta.html

Open the above link and Click on "Supported products", you will find your card listed there.

Download the file and installed it.Your graphic will work fine with Windows 7.

Your Notebook doesn't support windows 7 according to Sony. But if Windows 7 work fine with your Notebook then it's good. The graphic card which comes with your laptop is support by Windows 7 and the driver for that chipset is available and there should not be any problem with your graphic card.

Happy New year..

UPGRADE HARD DRIVE

Hi,
basically your system board has a PCI controller interfave and will only allow you a maximum of 100G hard drive. if you want to upgrade to SATA interface you need to purchase a SATA Adapter card that goes to one of the vacant PCI slot. this will then allow you to upgrade to 200G-300G hard drive. you also need to upgrade your power supply. SATA hard drives has different power connectors. if you are having problems finding these parts try to ask dell spare parts at 800-3573355 or 800-8228965.

hope this resolves your problem.

thanks.
