What would you like to know???? how to remove the cd? If so you will notice a small hole in the cd drive tray, stick i straightened paper clip or simlar in this hole and it should force the tray open, failing that you will have to remove the cd drive and try to take it apart.

Destructive recovery

It depends upon what virus it had? Some will attack the boot sector. If it was mine, and I am not sure what virus it had, I would do a complete reinstall. Starting with deleting the partition of the heard drive, the creating the partition and format the drive install the OS and drivers. The before placing and programs or games on the drive, get a good anti-virus and malware detector program on it.

I did an installation and after the installation the sound did not come.

Try removing your sound card drivers restart system and re-install them if this does not work then it sounds like the virus has not been completely terminated with the method you have tried as just reinstalling without fdisk and format is just writing the information over the top of the virus and not removing it.. My suggestion is to fix this is, fdisk your hard disk and reset the MBR ( Master Boot Record ) and to repartition you hard disk format the drive this is a must before you can use the hard disk again and then try a re-install of your O.S and all drivers for your system. If this has worked then great you should be clean and clear, If by the off chance that it does not fix the problem then it is a case of using a virus scanner of some sort to disinfect the virus. I personally use Norton 360 Version 6 and find it very helpful with viruses etc. If after all this and the problem still exists it could very well be that the virus is attacking your hardware and these are the most dangerous form of virus you can get as they slowly but surely take control of your hardware and without professional removal it will eventually render your system completely useless. I hope this helps.

The driver for the CD ROM it is loading with windows when you instal the computer ..If the drive letter disappeared and it seams to be uninstalled in device manager it means it was attacked by a virus and even if you load the driver again it will do the same ..In this case you have to reinstall the operation system from the recovery source or from a boot-able disk ..

Since you have an HP, you can order a replacement set of "System Restore" disks from HP, for less than $20 -- much less than buying a "retail" copy of Windows. That set of CDs will have the correct drivers and the same "factory-installed" applications.

Best practices after nasty virus attacks that leaves your system unstable or working less than normal calls for a reinstall. My advice to you is backup any files you want to keep on a usb drive and VIRUS SCAN THE DRIVE. Once you are 100% sure that your files are backed up and virus free gather your OS install media and CD Keys then reinstall. I can not stress enough to be 110% sure your back up files are clean or you will reinfect your new OS install. With well over 12 years of experiences fighting viruses this is just the way to go rather than spending days or weeks of hair pulling trying to restore a damaged OS until this is a mission critical system for a customer.

Computer freezes after start up!

It seems to be a virus attack. Place the boot disc on the CD-ROMand reinstall the OS by repairing option. If there is nothing of importance on the hard disk I would advise total format and do a clean install. This should solve all problems,,,,sodeep(remember to keep the MB CD handy tp load all the drivers after installing the OS)

(This is a fix for when you hit ENTER to install windows, and then the message pops out and says that windows does not recognize any drives press f3 to exit or something...if not try it anyways)

1) Download nlite.
2)Got to your manufacturers website>support> sata controller drivers...download them.
3)and go to this website....

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/res...p-installation/

lol i found i and i thought the screenshots would be a better guide...create the new windows cd like it says there...and you will be ready to go...drop me a message if you get stuck anywhere and ill be happy to help...

btw, you dont need to do anything on the set up(like hit f 6 to install extra drivers), that is only when you do it with a floppy.

good luck and let me know if this helps

Need to reinstall operating system without restore cd

Get a bootable CD, go to bios setup and change the first boot device to CD ROM. Then boot to the CD, re-install. Go to manufacturer's site for drivers that are installed.

Lost installation cd

This is a generic answer for lost cd/software. Not knowing what unit it is or what OS,first, does your unit have a windows license on it, either on the side panel or the back. Second, if there is a license, try borrowing a cd with the OS from a Friend. Install it ,then go to the manufacterer's web site and download the drivers.
