The bucket needs to be emptied. The diffenece is the relative humidity in your area. A/C pulls moisture out of the air and this is absolutely necessary and normal.

Portable amana a/c 10,000 - btu ; keeps sounding like the water is dripping inside all the time....but no leakage...does this mean needs to be drained soon? or is this sound normal?

That's the water dripping into the water collect bucket/tank, which is normal. The unit should turn off automatically, when the bucket becomes full and needs to be drained. There should be a warning light that will come on when the bucket is full.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I don't know what CHO1 is either! My husband and I had the same problem a couple years ago. We just ended up buying a new one.

Have a Coleman Evcon AH16W10BA dripping water from EVERYWHERE!

Probably the drain is clogh (it's a p.v.c. pipe , or could be a 3/4 or 1" hose comming out of the inside unit) , to clear the drain , the best thing is to blow air pressure thruogh it , and keep it clean by pouring about a cup of bleach every 3/4 months.

Are you supposed to put water in the bucket of the dehumidifier or is the water that is in the bucket now from using the dehumidifier? Dumb question I am sure. But I am renting and have never used one...

The dehumidifier condenses the water on its coils and then it drips into the bucket. Dump out all of the water when the bucket is full. This model has a light that tells you when it is full. If the dehumidifier gets ice on the coils, it needs repair (low refrigerant).

I hope this helps.

Water bucket - proper seating

Try re-seating the bucket. I have found some LG models that if not seated all of the way will sometimes keep running and think the bucket is not full even when it is. On the models that I have seen do it the problem is usually the left side of the bucket not engaging all of the way. When you reseat the bucket, feel where the bucket meets the dehumidifier on each side and make sure they are even. If one feels like it is sticking out further than the other and you cannot push it in any more pull the bucket out and try and reseat it again until both sides are flush with the dehumidifier. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.

Thanks - Tech101
