Hi
To change the network setting you need to go to Menu/Settings/Phone/Network
You will need to select the automatic for automatic network selection. If you select manual then the phone will search for all available networks and allow you to choose one.
This will resolve the issue you are facing. If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be more than happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.
Regards

    Hi there

Please correct me if I am wrong.
What I have understood is that you are trying to make calls from your phone and currently you are not in Singapore

To make calls you have following options

    1) you can get a new sim card from an operator of the country where you are present now.
This will work if the phone is unlocked to be used for other network around the world.
In case the phone is locked, you need to get in touch with the first operator which was associated with the phone when you purchased the phone and ask the to unlock the phone(this is usually is paid service)

    2) you can use the Singapore operator's sim, provided that operator has partnership with any mobile operators in the country that you are currently visiting.
You need to also ensure that your Singapore operator has activated "international Roaming" facility on your sim.you need to call your Singapore operator to get the settings.(this service is usually free and need just your authorization)

In short you have to options, get a new sim from any operator in the country that you are visiting (making calls will be cheaper this way).Or using you Singapore sim with expensive call rates.

In your phone leave the network settings in automatically detect network mode

This will resolve the issue you are facing.
If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be more than happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

    Regards

My phone looses connection very often. it brings up a message saying your answering modem has been disconnected to please check your settings

Try the following, (may work)

To manually select the network operator to use for data connections
You can also manually select your network operator from Connection Setup's
settings screen. Connection Setup will then reconfigure your device's data
connections settings based on the operator that you selected.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the Connections tab, tap Connection Setup.
3. Select the network Country and Operator you want to use, then tap OK.
Note If you choose a Country and/or Operator that is different from the installed SIM
card network operator, you may not be able to access network services.
4. When prompted to confirm whether you want to configure the data
connection settings based on the selected network, tap Yes.
Connection Setup configures the data connection settings.
5. After the Connection Setup completes the configuration, tap Restart.

I can send sms, but i can't receive any messages. i have check that in have no sms center in mobile network under the settings. how to solve it?

Hi, issues like this are related to your Sim card (network),
not your Cell Phone . In most cases, regarding the text messages,
the problem is from the Service Operator. Have you tried the Sim card on another phone? If not,
remove the Sim card, insert it on another phone and try sending a message from another mobile to you number,
or you can do it in vise- versa by inserting another Sim card on your mobile.

If you can't receive text messages even when it's inserted on another handset,
then you will need to call the customer care of your Network Operator and tell
them your problem, they will help you fix it immediately.

You can check the message center number, but I don't think
it's very much important in your case, well, if you wanna try,
just check the text message settings and verify that the message
center number (which is currently in use) is the same number which
is on another phone with the same network (the other Sim should be
of the same network in your area). If it's different, make the changes
and save the settings. Also disable the "Receive Via" or similar settings..
(I can't recollect the exact settings as i don't have the same model with
me, please excuse me for this.).

If the same Sim card doesn't receive text messages using another handset,
don't bother to change the settings or to make any changes with it,
first call the customer care and verify from them, you may make mistakes instead of fixing it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for using fixya.......

Screen saying limited service

This could mean that you don't have any signal from your network operator, or it could mean that your phone has been disconnected from the network.

Go into your phones settings.
Go to Network > Network Selection Mode

Change this to 'Manual'.

Choose another operator network (not your own).

Then go back to your main screen.

Follow the above step again, but this time choose 'Automatic'.

Turn the phone off and back on, and this should solve your problem.

Hope this helps!
