Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators

1 Answer

Water leaks from the bottom corners from underneath the unit, especially the right corner. Not continuously and not unprompted; only after a door has been opened and closed. Opening and closing the door again does not result in another leak; the fridge has rob"sit" a while before it will leak again. This unit is maybe a year old.

If you move the ffridge forwarrd and look on the backside bottom, there is a small tank to which the defrosted water flows to fill. It is possible that this tank is full and whenever you are opening/closing the fridge the overflow happens to spill beneath the fridge.
Usually when the defrosting is more the water collected can exceed .
This can be possible fault. Otherwise check also if the defrosted water is losing track and flowing down.
In both cases your attention to the rear side of the fridge is needed.

it is supposed to leak from a drain hole
ac units remove water vapour from the air and that forms water which has to be drained away

It will not drain or fill. Why is it leaking under right corner but not from the door?

Hello. You will have to remove the kick panel to exposed the workings underneath the unit. Water takes the path of least resistance and it could be coming from anywhere. The float switch is located on the right side near the front. The seal could be leaking. There are hoses to the drain pump, main pump, etc...You will need a flashlight to look closely as to what is actually leaking--have towels and especially a wet/dry vac ready(no home should be without one!) If you can isolate the leak, I can provide more assistance with exploded diagrams and/or part numbers. I hope I helped you!

We have a Kenmore Elite 795 fridge. It is constantly leaking water from the bottom right corner of the unit onto the floor. There always seems to be a build up of ice at the bottom of the unit.

Usually the result of CONDENSATION due to eithr bad door seals allowing air and moister in to condensate. or a plugged or clogged evaporator drain line which causes water to back up and freeze or leak out the lowest point the bottom?

LG Dishwasher leaks!! New E1 Code just fixed an HE Code, gasket not broke, one of the electrical connections underneath had come loose so I just clipped it back on. I have not hooked everything up again...

http://lgdishwasher.yolasite.com/ MINE JUST STARTED AGAIN TODAY. SWOLLEN BOTTOM DOOR GASKET LOOKS LIKE HILLS UP AND DOWN. ALLOWING WATER TO OVER FLOW DOOR BOTTOM. GETS TRAPPED BEHIND GASKET. PAN HAS LITTLE WATER WHEN YOU OPEN DOOR. BUT CAN SEE RUN OUT OVER EDGE WHEN RUNNING WITHOUT OUTER DOOR SKIN, ALSO LEAKS AT TOP CORNERS DUE TO DEFORMED CORNER GASKET. THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE THE GASKET ROUND IN CORNERS TO KEEP IT SEALING, HAD TO MAKE C METAL CLIPS 4 INCHES LONG TO HOLD BOTTOM GASKET TIGHT TO BOTTOM PAN, USED 4 CLIPS AND TWO SMALLER AT ENDS

I have had water leaking from underneath my dishwasher and have found that on filling, water overflows top of the water inlet unit

My Miele 828 dishwasher started to leak at the front left corner. The leak became worse. I tipped the machine on its side and removed the rubber moulding connecting the base of the drum to the pump. I cleaned it out and refitted it finding two small coins inside. The leak persisted. I took off the top of the machine by unscrewing the two screws on either side and pushing the lid backwards. I switched the machine on and, with a torch could see that the detergent dispenser had detached from the delivery pipe under it. Using advice elsewhere on Fixya I undid the three bolts around the door and the three screws around the detergent dispenser; one is deeply recessed and easily missed. Than I unclipped the drain pipe behind the little door at the bottom left hand corner at the front. The front then hinges out from the left with hinges at the right side making the leaking connection easily accessible. Make sure you get the rubber flange well up the plastic tube as there is no flange on the tube to secure it. A possible design fault but the unit has functioned for ten years before the connection failed.

Works fine, cleans properly, last couple of times has big puddle of water over floor, seems to be coming from underneath machine. checked filters, hoses etc and all ok. machine is approx. 8 yrs old..

one some models such as kenmore or hotpoint, the door seals go bad (the black rubber things in the corner at the base of the door)
On others such as tappan and frigidaire
the little corner diverters come away from the base (they are semi clear plastic and
attach to the bottom of the dishwasher in each corner near the door).

Also if you have done a lot of dishes by hand the soap may accumulate in the sump of the dishwasher and cause it to oversuds causing soapy water to leak out the front.
If you use regular dish detergent instead of dishwasher detergent, this will occur as well.

Last thing to look at, especially on hotpoint, ge or kenmore is the shaft that enters the
side of the pump which is attached to a triangle shaped piece of plastic. The seal often
fails there and will require pump replacement as it is molded into the case of the unit.

LEAKING FROM BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER

Either leaking water valve, or possible cracked drain pan.
