This unit does not have Itinerary planning that would allow you to pre-plan your trips....XL and GO units have this feature.....no it can not be added

Was just given a TomTom and car adappter to use on my trip from MI to MD. I've never used a GPS and no manual was included how to program it from start to final destination

The TomTom only needs for you to enter your destination address. Once that's in, you're ready to go. Along your route you can tap the center of the screen to find POINTS OF INTEREST such as FOOD, LODGING, etc...but will retain destination info 'til either cleared or changed to new destination.

To enter your destination, tap center of screen. There you choose house address, business address or city's center. If you choose street address screen opens to:keyboard. Type in destination State, ie; Maryland. Once you've typed state, hit DONE in bottom right corner. The screen then goes to CITY. Type in destination city then hit done again. Follow the same steps for STREET NAME & HOUSE #. Click DONE & CONTINUE as prompted. TomTom will then target your location and you're ready to hit the road. It will show you your distance and time (ETA). It will also show you the speed limit where you are and the actual speed you are going.

When you pull over for gas, food, lodging, shopping, sight-seeing or whatever, it will automatically account for this and will continuously update your coordinates to get you back to the highway/road you need to be on. And when you're ready to come back to MI all you have to do is hit the home icon and it will automatically map your trip back.(Home is - or should be - set to the home address of the owner of the GPS).

All-in-All it is user friendly and very simple to use.

If you need additional info, please don't hesitate to ask.

I hope this info was helpful to you. Good Luck!
Have a great trip and drive safely. :-)

My Tomtom 130 GPS seems to be frozen.

Hello there:
first off i would consult the troubleshooting section in your users manual if you dont have it contact the manufacture of the device for a manual.
otherwise try this remove the power cord and press and hold in the reset button for 2 min this may help reset the unit.
If not remove the power cord and leave the unit sit for several hours it has a re learning function built in also if you can go to www.tomtom.com to view a downloadable users

I live in Michigan and set up my tomtom. I'll be going on a trip to canada in a few weeks and wanted to see how it worked. When I try to set up a route from home to the hotel where I'll be staying in...

By default, the TomTom ONE 125 does not include maps of Canada. You can do one of two things:

1. If you just purchased it and can take it back, buy a TomTom ONE 130. It includes Canada maps and usually is only about $10-20 more.

2. Use the TomTom Home software (the same one that you use to update the TomTom and add voices, etc) and purchase the maps for it. I'm not sure how much they are, but certainly less than a new GPS.

Hope this helps!

Truck routes are not possible....the unit is designed for everyday road to road navigation only...

Yeep!

Connect yout tomtom to your pc/laptop, install the program that came with your tomtom, start the program and update your tomtom, it will install all the updates automaticly.

If you dont have the program/cd that came with your tomtom you can download it from here: http://uk.support.tomtom.com/cgi-bin/tomtom_uk.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php

Light on top indicates power is on but nothing showing on screen

Hi, try a reset ( push paperclip into hole underneath tomtom ) . if the reset doesnt work then its likely your charger might be faulty and putting too much voltage out and has damaged your tomtom . ( quite common ) .
Good luck .

ps , I have posted solution to this problem many times so it might be worth reading / looking through my other posts .

When you are planning a new trip and you go to input your destination there is an option to use recent destinations. Choose that then delete all recent trips from there. Hope this helps.
