Question about Electric Mobility Mobility Electric Power Scooter Wheelchair. Heavy Duty

1 Answer

Hello. I have a electric mobility Chaufeur 3 wheel scooter and am having a problem with it. When riding it and come to a stop, often times when you want to go it doesn't. You have to try to rock back and forth in the seat and then it will start to move. The problems seemto be getting worse. I have recent batteries and replaced the wiring to the batteries. I don't have any ideas as to its problem. Any help will be appreciated. Gary

Brake system of a scooter

There is a parking brake lever at the back, but if you're talking about stopping the scooter while riding it, there are no separate brakes.
taking your finger off the power lever turns the electric motor into an electric generator which slows and stops the scooter very quickly.

Electrical shuts off or slows down when riding

You may need to replace the battery even though it is charging. It sounds like a bad battery or the motor may be overloaded.

Pride Celebrity 3 wheel. The free wheel lever

My Mother buggy does the same and you can damage the gearbox, so I use a elastic try down to the bumper this stops it from moving but should there be a need I can remove it.

the Freewhel mech may have come loose so check it out.
