We had one of the screws that hold the lid on the waffle maker break and fall off on the first use. Do you kno wwhere we get a new screw?

try to do an exchange at where you got it from. If you are unable to I would go to Home Depot and match it up rather than wait 4-6 weeks to get one from Black and Decker

Screws that hold bottom and top together have come out - appears that plastic that they screw into has melted

I repaired the broken "clamshell" of my Waring Pro WMK300 Professional Belgium Waffle Maker by replacing the original screws with a pair of (black metal) #8 x 1.125 inch flat-head machine screws and anti-vibration lock-nuts. These nuts have a nylon insert to prevent loosening. The assembly is now strong enough to pick up by the handle.
I drilled into the original plastic pits to create through-holes. I chose screws just long enough to fill the anti-vibration lock-nuts without protruding. You will need to hold each nut with a wrench or pliers while turning the screw into the nylon of the nut. Tighten just until the waffle iron assembly is snug, then another 1/8 turn. The torque should increase only during this last step.
The nuts are visible when I flip the iron, but I don't mind - they just remind me that the iron is now stronger than factory design.

My waffle maker continues to stick even after I brush butter or oil all over the grill. I'm about ready to throw the thing away! Is there anyway to get a replacement?

Depending on how long you have had it, if you still have the receipt or not you might be able to return it to the store you got it at, espically if you got it at a target, k-mart, wal-mart ect, and switch it out for the same one, or sometimes even get your money back.

Also are u making sure your waffel iron is getting nice and hot? if its not at max temp when u poor in the batter it will stick. (most have a light on the outside that will light up, when its hot enough)

Cuisinart Classic Round Waffle Iron

The screw that holds the metal cover to the grid is hidden under the black Cuisinart piece on the top. There are 4 ears which lock it down. I'm not sure the best way to get them open, as I broke mine opening it. Looks like if you take a metal putty knife, and push toward the hinge from the handle, at the end of the radius at each side, it may pop off for you. The other two are about 3/4" off the back of the piece, and should get out of the way as you lift the front.

Now, does anyone know where to get a replacement black cuisinart piece?

Proceed at your own risk, this information is worth what you paid for it, and I broke mine in the process.
