I have the paslode 900420. I have to push the safety down 3 to 4 times before it will shoot. I just cleaned it and got new fuel cells. What do I do to remedy this problem?

Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

Paslode 900420 fires only one nail and the battery has to be pulled and reinsert to fire again. After shooting one nail, the light alternate between green and Red. I have tried new fuel cell and fresh...

It needs to be cleaned and oiled. You can buy an electrical cleaner spray and oil specific for paslodes at Home Depot. You will have to take the back off (where the filter is) and clean it with the cleaning spray then oil it well. Put it back together and it will work like new again. You will be surprised how much difference it will make. Good luck

Paslode 900420 it runs and I get spark but it doesn't fire. the cylinder is clean and its a new fuel cell. Do the spark plugs often go bad?

no they don't, where do you get the spark from?? you can test this tool with the cylinder off by depressing the roller lever and holding the switch in the on position. If there is fire across the gap it should work and then I would look to make sure the safety is fully depressing. If this is the one with o rings you might want to check them for wear. Also look at the expiration date on the fuel cell, it is on the bottom and if expired could cause a problem.

My paslode wont shoot i cleaned the gun recently and oiled also the light is green and i compress the tip to shoot and it wont but the fan still comes on to vent the gas i also put a brand new gas in

strip it down again and put the battery in and whilst holding the nipple down pull the trigger (just mind your fingers as the fan will start) and as you squeeze the trigger see if sparks each time

It will not shoot ive checked everything. fan comes on light is on but nothing happens

Make sure you have a fuel cell that is in date and also activated. To activate it you must press the balck cap down tight onto the fuel cell.

Gun shoots once

when you say cleaned did you replace the o rings? and lubricate them. on the framing nailer there are 2 push rods in the area where the fan is, are they in place and move freely, they push the door up where the fuel cell is to load fresh fuel, check these and the stem that is in the head is it in correctly with the open portion facing up? Check the expiration date on the fuel cell it is on the bottom, an out of date cell will give you fits also. When you depress the safety to fire and release it after the nail does it move freely or hang up. These are all thoughts that you might look for. Check them out and if you still have trouble give me the exact model number and other symptoms.
