Question about PNY XLR8 GeForce 8800GT 512MB PCI Express Graphic Card

1 Answer

My computer will be running fine, then suddenly freeze up. I assume its a graphics problem because the screen suddenly becomes pixelated and jaunty. I opened the case and restarted, the card fan is working, but the card is still getting very very hot. I have blown it out with compressed air to see if any dust had accumulated, but I still had issues. I removed the card and can run the system fine using the on board video graphics (motherboard) so this just reinforces the idea that something is amiss with my pny graphics card. Quite right you are ,, it is a G-card problem,, and its supposed to get hot but not very very very hot !!! thats way too hot,, chances are the fan aint cooling it propperly,, or it could be the card is just no good.. I myself only use Radion cards,, but i know these are expensive so a lot of ppl use G-Force in brands such as PNY.. If i were you i would get a new card ,, but before i came out with that extra money I would remove the fan from the graphics card,..,, attach a bigger one for a pc case ,, then i would power it by connecting it directly to my computers power supply.. and hope that saves the extra money.. Let me know what happens ,, Regards dark..

Dead pixel line?

Hi, The problem with pocket PC is that you can't do something to test and find if the problem comes from the display or the graphic processor. If the device is not too old, you can try to repair it. In case that the device is more than 10 years, buy a new one. Sorry.

My card freezes up the computer and the screen shows pixels. It worked fine for a while then just stopped. I'm wondering if it's a driver issue. I have an HP m7330n media center.

Hello superfli36, I had same problem with my video card, my best advice to you is your video card got everheated if it shows pixels freezes up, video card needs to be replaced, don't waste you time try to fix it its alot cheaper you can buy new one for less.

When I open game the monitor become black and show: Analogique shortcut 53.6 Khz/85 hz

Your resolution or screen refresh rate sounds like it is too high.

Try dropping your resolution to 1024 x 768 and see if the issue persists.

If it does then perhaps your game is trying to force you into a higher resolution output and faster screen refresh rate than your graphics card or your screen can handle.

Assuming that the graphic output is fine when your not playing this game and just using windows?

Thanks

Computer startup and running issues

Hello:

Try to remove the graphic card and then clean with soft clothe and then insert it again and test.

if same problem encounter, you need to replace the video card, since your pc is virus free.

considering the monitor, you need also to change the or test the monitor but its 10% that this a cause of the symptoms.

most probably the graphic card got faulty.

may this help,

Freeze Up

Have you tried running in safe mode to see if problem persists?

White pixels on screen is not a good sign :(
Have you cleaned the card from dust as it could be a overheating problem?

Do you have a spare card you could try just to be sure it is the card?
