Question about Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

I have a Garmin Forerunner 305. When I connected it to my PC It started to charge right away and then made an attempt to upload the data. The upload failed, although indicated it was successful on the Forerunner. I attempted it again with the same results. When I looked at the Forerunner the screen was totally blank. I tried to power it on with no luck - even when it was attached to the PC. Is the battery dead? Thanks...

The Gps should be on when you connect to the computer even if the battery is not good
it could be that it overloaded and the fuse burned
I fix the GPS

My garmin forerunner 305 turns off automaticly after a couple of minutes, and the battery is fully charge.

Try SW reset. Hold Mode and lap/reset for 10 seconds, then release and long press start until device restarts.
Should clean up default.

If not try hard reset, but you'll loose all data in device.
hold mode and start for ten second, device needs to off before.
Then keeping these, pulse press lap/reset.
You'll get a confirmation screen

Garmin Forerunner 305 won't turn on and won't charge. Is there a fix or is this it for the device?

Look at

You can soft reset or hard reset the device. Hard reset deletes all data.

The Garmin fitness units are unreliable. I don't know the answer but the first place I'd look is in the Motion Based Forum.

Garmin 305 stops uploading data

Try maybe a different computer and see if it works. If it doesn't then something is wrong with your item. Clearing the history won't help.

My garmin 305 only operates when connected to charger. It says that the charge is complete but does not operate when not connected to charger.

Go to the garmin website and install the firmware update.
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1421

Took about 5 minutes to do the whole thing. Seems to work fine now. Didn't even loose data.
