try blowing out all of the dust from your keyboard using a fine air blower from an air compressor making sure there is no moisture in the lines.

dust causes static which causes lots of problems with a computer and its parts

hope this helps

Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the keyboard? My spacebar doesn't work unless I press it uber-hard!

no there is not a sensitivity setting for the spacebars, however, some people have eaten or trimmed their fingernails and so on by their computers and in turn have gunk stuck up underneith the keys.

So check to make sure something has not landed up underneith it and clean it out if it has.
and make sure the keyboard is seated correctly. (if other keys dont work or don't work well this is a sign that the keyboard connectors are not seated correctly, but if all other keys work fine it is not a seating issiue and your cables are connected just fine.) If under warranty call the HP techs first!

The keys have suddenly become hypersensitive and the caps lock is stuck on. This happened after a battery change that I did with the keyboard face down on a table. I can get a single letter by barely...

I want to follow those steps but my spacebar is too sensitive, so it won't fit in the ~ key and I have the terrible HP G62 and I don't know how to remove the keys.

The keyboard types more than one letter when letter is depressed. Is there a way to set it so it is not so sensitive or is the keyboard defective?

try going into the control panel. should see a mouse and key board setting try changing the sensitivity in there. I know you can do that with a mouse. some key boards are just sensitive just give it a light tap and it won't do that your holding it down to long.
