SOURCE: Kenmore electric stove heating element how to replace

A replacement is usually around $40. There are usually 2 screws holding the element in the back of the stove. Turn off the power and remove the element. There are usually only 2 wires. It really doesn't matter which goes where. Install the new element and see if it will shut off when oven reachers temp. If it continues to heat, there is another piece that needs to be replaced. If there is a contactor or relay replace it, If not the thermostat needs to be replaced. Sometimes when the element burns out it shorts to the ground and fuses the contacts forcing the element to stay on. Sometimes you actually have to turn off the power to the stove.

SOURCE: Oven heating element

Hello rvready
Welcome,

You said, We have an OLD (1950-60) Frigidaire wall oven, model # RBG-94. Bottom heating element has gone out. Oven is still in good shape so we'd like to be able to find an element replacement, but have had no luck finding one.

unfortunately,
I am not able to find this part either.
Anywhere. This oven is to old for parts. But most important is that it is causing you high utility rates!
Today's appliances save you the arm and the leg that such an old oven is costing you.
You have no idea how it is sucking your money out of your pocket!
It is unfortunate, that no one told you about this years ago!
You payed for more than one oven with your utility bill if you had it since it was new. My advice is do not put good money into bad!
Shop for a new one and see your bills go down.
my wife was telling me to replace the air and furnace for 7 years and I said, it's not broken. But it was over 20 years old. She was right, cause the new one saved me $100. a month!
That means I threw away $7000. in 6 years with my old world attitude.
Yes I am old fashion and always fix it!
But after 25 years of marriage. i finally realized she is a good evaluator and I was a fool to not appreciate her gift for all these years! And out tons more money than I told you about!

Hope I saved you some bucks with my real life stories!
Don't tell your wife!!!

SOURCE: maytag electric oven - MER5770AAQ. lower heating element not work

Hi, Unplug the oven and remove the element to test it. Check the element and see if there is continuity. If the element is open, replace it. It can be bad even tho it doesn't appear bad.

I hope this helps you.

Indesit fan oven. Top oven works bottom fan oven doesn't .Is it the element

If the fan is working o/k, then it is going to be the element that is faulty, this is located at the rear of the oven compartment behimd a removeable cover.

Hi right my indesit 29229 fan oven is not working it blow the power in the house now the top oven is work but the bottom one wont heat up the fans working and thats it do you think its the element thats...

To blow the house trips it must be the element

Thermostats do not normally go short circuit.

The elements can be replaced quite easliy and cheaply

I would check that the fan is turning freely before you buy the element

Hi,my electric tripped.i have an indesit k642r vsg.the oven light is on but it still is not heating the oven up.the fans working fine, why is this?

If it is a electrically heated fan oven, then in all probability, it is the oven element that has failed.
This is usually located art the rear of the oien compartment behind a removeable cover.
Hope this helps.

Oven does not heat up

Generraly speaking, if the fan is working o/k , then it is more than likely that the oven element is faulty, and will need to be replaced.
