Danby DPAC 8099 Moisture Removal problem

Unit seems to cool fine and work in all other aspects, except there is no moisture being removed. It used to fill the internal tank about once per day under normal usage, but now there is no water at all going into the tank. Is there a specific part or some service that I can perform that will restore this function? Kurt

If the dew point of the air in your place of operation is low you will not get moisture out of the air. Generally when the unit is first used it lowers the indoor humidity and you get a lot of moisture. Once things settle out the amount of moisture will decrease.

My ac is making to much condensation what sould the value speed be set on

If you increase the airflow, the blower moves more air across a cold coil and less moisture is removed due to less "air to coil" contact. If the air flow is slowed, the air passing through the coil is at a slower rate giving the coil more contact time and removing more moisture. Faster speeds for more area coverage. Slower speeds for lower humidity. In your instance, if you have a cold set temp(72°f or lower) your unit will run a lot no matter what speed the blower is in. But, high speed less moisture removal. Unless set temp is set too low. And if I can ask, why is too much moisture removal an issue?

The intermittent sound you're hearing is probably the compressor trying to start. This could be caused by a bad circuit or the compressor motor is seized If the latter is the case, it's time to start shopping for a new AC. As the cost to repair would be almost as much as a new unit depending on the age of your unit. However, compressors usually have a 5 year limited warranty. So check you Owners Manual for details. It may still be in warranty.

Danby dpac 10071 air conditioner is not cooling. a red light is on next to an icon with a full cup. Does anyone know how to make it cool?

That indicates that the water collection bucket is full and needs to be drained. Once the unit is turned OFF, unplugged and drained, the unit will start up and start cooling again. The drain hole is on the rear of the unit, just above floor level. You can either drain it in a shallow sided pan capable of holding 1 quart of water. Or roll it to a floor drain or outside to drain it.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Your question "Should I wait before starting the unit, after bringing it from the store?" may be the answer to the problem. If the unit was turned on it's side or back when you brought it home in your car? Then yes. that is the problem. When AC Units, Dehumidifiers, etc are turned on their side or back, the refrigerant gas and the lubricating oil runs out of the compressor. It should not be operated, unit it's been setting upright for 6 to 8 hours. This allows all the fluids to run back into place.

If the above is the case. Turn the unit Off and unplug it for at least 6 hours. Hopefully, all the fluids will return to where they are supposed to be.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
