a flashing light could mean any number of things. normal operation, number of communicating components, a minor alert such as a filter change or major alarm like pressure error or control board problems. first we would need the number of flashes and /or sequence of multiple flashes AND the model number of your "split heat pump!"

Flashing lights normally are an error code.. this could be anything really. You have to find out what that code is telling you (manufacturer specific). You most likely won't be able to fix this yourself if you can even find what that code means.. your best bet. Get the installer back. Unless you did it yourself. Then your gonna pay a lot for service unless you find someone willing to look at it (not many people will look at systems they didn't put in.)
Otherwise you have a ugly box on your wall that wi?l only flash some lights at you..

This is a communication issue between the indoor and outdoor units.

This fault can be caused a issue with the interconnecting wiring such as an induced voltage on the Communication cable or even if a Drain Pump has been installed incorrectly external to the Daikin Unit.

Ensure that the Outdoor unit has power to it and that the Main PCB has a Green Flashing (HAP) LED on it to show that it is powered up.

Seek a refrigeration mechanic. With out looking at the unit it is to pin point problem.
More than likely a PC board issue on the indoor or outdoor unit. Does your remote control give you an error code. If possible look at the users manual on how to get the remote to give you the error code.

Looks like thermistor problem. take service help.
