Zenith converg.serv. menu code: G-Z Chas. with 9-1690
Help! I have 5 different Zenith Projo models examp.(Z46Z83D8) & (A50M91W9), all with the same convergence 9-1690 convergence board. My manual has been missing for a year and I need the service code to enter convergence adjustments. Endless googling & what not only yields the 9876-enter (wrong) and 9875-enter for convergence on H-D models and didn't work on mine. If I could only enter the mode, I can figure out the rest. Thank you. Charles firstname.lastname@example.org

It could be that the picture tubes have gone down on emission, there is a prcedure that can be tried to bring up the overall brightness but it is just possible that you will loose some picture quality. If it's a 1994 projo tv i am thinking of the three crt system, a gray scale alignment would probably correct the dark condition in your picture, again depending on how far gone is the emission in your picture tubes, if your projo tv is the dlp system, the bad news is that you could be needing some light engine repair. The color adjustment is possible with the availability of a service manual or in the case of the dlp system, light engine repairs or replacement are available from some on line stores.
Was wondering if you ever found anything out how to reset the IC Screen Numbers or what the factory numbers all are on the Zenith Rear Projection TV Model # R57W46? I have the same problem ! My 2 year old son, not knowing how he did it cuze only a technecian is suppose to get into this screen, but he did change numbers in the too. I called zenith themselves and no luck ! My screen is bowed , etc..
Any Help ?
take a real good look at the quality of the picture you have now
b4 putting any money into this product
many of the phillips projo tvs out there have burned fluid in the crts that needs to replaced also
up to an including new crts
the convergence amps are the black things that say stk392-110 on them
two of them
that would would get you customer convergence back again
do you know how to solder?
If the convergence adjustment is not moving the beam chances are the convergence IC(s) are defective. If you know how to solder and understand TV safety you may be able to fix it. With power disconnected remove the back. You should see two large heat sinks with large ICs (3 by 6 inches) with about 30 leads going through the circuit board. Numbers on the ICs should usually be something like STKxxx-xxx or some variation with x being a number. These ICs control the position of the three beams. If they go bad you can't adjust one or more beams. Replace them both as you don't want to get in there again in 3 months. Cost is not that much. http://www.tritronicsinc.com or http://www.partstore.com should have them at a reasonable price. Before replaceing the ICs look at the circuit board closly for cracked solder joints. Resoldering any bad joints might just solve your problems and avoid replacing the ICs. Good luck and remember safety.
