Work a small amount of WD40 into the hose junction and manually move to try loosen up the hose. Once you have the hose out, spray some WD40 onto a paper towel and wipe the inside of the hose connection and the outside of the hose to lubricate it a bit.

Wand on dyson dc 17 is clogged

Hi there,

If you've noticed a blockage in your DC17's wand, you should be able to remove this using something like a garden cane to dislodge it, after separating the wand from the end of the hose. Take care not to damage the wand when you do this.

You may also want to run through the troubleshooting steps shown in our online Support guide to make sure there are no other blockages in the machine:

Why wont the wand pull out from my Dyson DC 14?

Hi there,

Hi there,

The black curved piece you mention is part of the changeover valve mechanism, which automatically diverts suction from the cleaner head to the hose when you remove the wand from the cleaner. The position you've described it in - open, with the base of the wand poking through - is normal when the wand is fitted on the machine, and is nothing to worry about.

If you have any further concerns, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide the assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC18. From what you've described, it sounds as though the hose may be twisted when you replace the wand on the cleaner after use. Checking that the hose is straight before you replace the wand should prevent this from happening. However, if you've tried this and find that the wand still requires a lot of force to remove, please get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting checks with you and provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON.

Wand stuck

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If you're having trouble removing the wand from the cleaner, you may have a blockage in the base of the hose. The easiest way to check for this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-SY-HEPA_US

By removing any obstructions jamming the base of the wand in place, you should be able to resolve your issue.

However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Power head and wand has no power. Unit is less than 4 month old.

Hi, I had the same problem with mine and found that if you plug the power head directly into the handpiece (bypassing the telescopic wand) and it worked only proved the problem is in the telescopic wand. The problem as I found was a broken terminal in the end that connects to the powerhead (female socket). As it is a non repairable part means replacement at $100AUS I have had my machine for 3 years and in this time have replaced the both powerhead once and the wand twice within 2 years of owning the machine. The wand has now gone faulty again 4 months after replacing it and consequently Electrolux only warranty spares for 3 months which I think is poor! Its a great machine but a little too delicate even if it is only used for domestic operations once a fortnight! I paid $700 for my Oxy3 3 years ago and wont be buying another Electrolux product due to poor service (customer and product):((

Dyson DC 14 animal bagless--unable to use wand

Hi.

Try these tests & tell me the results.

Remove the hose & wand completely from the machine it unclips at the bottom of the back.

Leave handle in full upright position & switch on do you still get the sound of something blocked ?

If yes remove the (U) shaped inspection port again at bottom back of machine now repeat last test what happens ?

Please reply with your answers.
