If you formatted the hard drive you have deleted all the information on it. All you can do is a new install

you can format and re install your software directly even without restting your bios setting. any way remove the battery in the mother board for 20 minutes and put it back. whwn you open it will reset to factory default.

Tip

Emachine e4264 bios update

There is an updated version of the BIOS for emachine model e4264 that fixes some hardware compatibility issues as well as other things for windows vista.
There is a read file you can download here
As well as the driver here
To install the driver download then follow these steps
1. Use CDRW burning software to Burn Disc Image of the C:\Cabs\4GC3110E\4GC3110E.iso file to a blank CD. 2. After creating the bootable CD, place the CD in the CD/DVD drive, and then restart the computer. 3. At the Menu, select 1 for eMachines BIOS 4GC3110E. The BIOS flash process runs automatically. Do not press any keys or turn off the computer during this process. 4. When complete, the message "Flashing Complete" flashes. Remove boot media used and press the F1 key. 5. Press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility. 6. In the BIOS Setup Utility, select Load Optimized Defaults, and then press the ENTER key. 7. Press the Y key, and then to select Load Optimized Defaults, press ENTER. 8. In the BIOS Setup Utility, select Save and Exit Setup, and then press ENTER. 9. Press Y, and then press ENTER to Save and EXIT.

My compaq presario sr5030nx is a really horrible desktop computer i have used it for 3 years i am realy farmiliar with it and have browsed site all day trying to find a way to fix or identify my problem...

In this case the good solution would be to reinstall the operating system using a CD/DVD with windows, and to format all local disks. Or, buy a HDD DOC-station, and scan your HDD on an other computer using the antivirus, then delete all infected files. Even your original system would work.

I have some crazy virus on my computer but when I try to restore to factory default it comes up with a user login and none of mine are recognized. Is there a way to restore factory settings by command...

If thats the case, virus infected ur LOG IN and u can't accesed ur data, even if u used the "safe mode", the only way is to FORMAT the whole Hard disk and install a new OS!

How do you reboot a mini laptop to a factory default in whats the right cd do you need to download something if it ask u to download stuff.

To reboot your mini laptop to factory default you need to re-install your OS (Operating System).
To do this you need your Windows xp, vista, or Windows 7 disc, and make sure you have your product key. Ie. Product Key: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx (Most product keys are on the bottom of the laptop, and are 25 Characters).
Put the disc in your laptop and restart your computer. Boot from CD, and follow the prompts. It will ask you if you want to format your partition (Erase all your data including virus's) and format it. Then it will install your OS, and you will have factory default setting's and programs.

Hope this helps and if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask me! Please don't forget to rate :), Thanks!

Has a virus n won't let me do anything with it. How do I do a system recovery to set back to factory settings? Tryed ctrl +f11 and that didn't work.

If your system is affected with viruses then first try to scan the system with a good and updated antivirus,if you are not satisfied with the result then take important data as backup in any other storage device and format your system.
Then your problem will be fixed.
Thanks
Have a great day.

Hi! Try system restore first and check if that will remove the virus but if not then you can reset the machine to factory defaults by pressing ALT+F10 during start up or when the acer logo appears on your screen.Follow the prompts and you should be able to reset the computer to factory image.Make sure you back up important files because it will wipe the system clean.hope this helps...

How do i do a factory system restore on an emachine?

Hi there.
Emachines usually gives you restore disk to restore it to factory setting (out-of-the box). see if you can find that disk if not you can contact Emachines and get it from them. it should not be too expensive just shipping could be part of expense. i would say about $25. i would call emachines and get it from them

From Emachines' website.
Available 5 am to 12 midnight,

Canada 1-604-637-1419

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

DELL reformating

On boot press the key that will open your BIOS (usually flashes which key this option for a second or two on boot, or just press F1, F2, and the delete key on boot) and set the boot order to CD ROM drive first, then with the Windows CD/DVD in your CD's tray reboot and look for a prompt to press any key to boot to the CD and press a key. This prompt will only show for a few seconds, so you have to be quick. Once booting to the CD you should get to the format and partition screen where you can delete partitions, create new ones, and then format the one you want to reinstall your OS on and the rest should be easy.

High Speed and viruses

Slowness can be caused by viruses.

Run a virus scan and see what comes up.
If there are viruses on the computer, you may want to consider Restoring your computer to factory settings.

But before you do that
Run a virus scan; go to Symantec and run it or download AVG free.

If you decide to restore to factory settings, I will be glad to help you. Understand, you will loose everything on the computer, and you will have to run all your programs again, set up your network connection and email. Very time consuming.
