Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

My ford car radio/CD cannot pick up any FM stations although MW works, do you know what might be the problem? I have taken the radio out to see if there is a lose wire but all looks ok, I have unscrewed the aerial and cleaned and put back again but has not helped.

There is usually a single wire with a big connector that plugs into the back of the stereo near the corner, check to see if it's there. It's for the antenna.

While my FM setting works perfectly, I can't pick up any stations in MW or LW. Any Advice?

Check with an Audi Dealer. There are some stations that went Digital along with the TV stations. Your receiver may be outdated.

Ford 6000 eon radio unit - unit has no volume on fm stations, or occasionally the vlume comes on when first turned on and then fades after about 20 - 30 seconds. It finds stations on automatic search but...

Alas

This is a very common fault with these units, repair is a little expensive, as it's the FM tuner unit. It's an ebay job I'm afraid, pay around £45 for a second hand 6000 with code.

No am radio

You realize that the MW is the AM stations....I don't know
why they didn't just put AM on the band select...
Also I could not get MW (AM) on my set once and the
reason was that it was too close to my laptop...
It was interfering with the radio.....

I need to know what fm station to put the radio on

It should have an fm transmitter that has 3 options (more or less) beginning with 88.5, 88.7, 88.9, etc. pick any one of the three and turn on the cd changer. If it works properly then you should be able to hear your music. The one you pick should correspond with the channel frequency of the radio or head unit.
