Question about Sanyo PLC XU35 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Sanyo Pro xtra X Multiverse Projector model PLC XU35. The colors are out of sync causing a red shadow on the left of text or icons and a blue shadow on the right side. Is there a way to adjust this or is it beyond repair. Thanks

Does the projector have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair.

Thanks for your advice. Can a local repair person replace the filters?

Depending on the age of the projector it sounds very much like your colour filters have become "burnt out". This unfortunately happens after some time when the colour used in the glass of the filters fades. Once the colour fades in these filters there is nothing you can do apart from buying a new set of filters which can be very expensive. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but with most projector problems they do tend to be expensive to repair.

Yes a local repair person could replace them, you could even do it yourself if you are not afraid of taking the projector apart. Paying the manufacturer would be hugely expensive as it is quite lucrative for them to fit filters. The main problem you will come up against if it is the filters is the fact that they can be very fiddly to change. In most cases part disassembly of the circuit boards inside would be required and you do have to be very careful when working around the prism and lcd screens inside the unit. Normally the lcd's are attached to the circuit board with ribbon cables, the clips that the ribbon cables clip into are very delicate, if you are not careful you could end up breaking one of them. If I were you I would see how much a set of filters are for it and then see how much a local electronics repair business would charge you to fit them. I have had a look online and cannot find the colour filters from anywhere but seeing as the lamps are around the £300 mark I would guess the filters are going to be pretty expensive too.

Sorry I cannot be of more help to you, see what your local electrical store says but I am guessing they will say it is uneconomical to repair

Can you connect a Mac ProBook laptop to a ProxTrax Multiverse?

Hello. There is no "device" needed to connect the units together...You'll need a cable that is"mini display port to vga". In order to connect the projector to the laptop, the cable has to have the special Apple connector which fits into a specific socket on the back of the laptop. The other end is just a standard vga connector which is plugged into the computer input on the projector. Hope I helped you!
