Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

I just filled a bobbin with the balance wheel released. Now I can't tighten it so tht I can sew. I turn the little wheel inside the bigger one to tighten it and it just keeps turning, not tightening. This is an old White, a gift in 1957. Please refer me to a sewing machine expert as there is no option here for that category.

This sounds like the cog has either worn down or broken off. You will probably need to have it replaced

I have a Singer 99-13 with knee control. I wound bobbins but can't get it to sew. Is there something that turns it over to sewing? Thanks. Karen

On the 99-13, you wind the bobbin with the balance wheel in the stop motion position. Thus during bobbin winding, the needle mechanism is disconnected from the rest of the machine. You probably need to tighten the set screw on the balance wheel. The screw is in the center of the balance wheel on the right hand side of the sewing machine. Hold the balance wheel while you turn the screw away from yourself. (You hold the balance wheel and turn the screw over towards you for winding.)

The manual for the 99-13 is available from Singer on their manuals page: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/9d4377811af9ffbbaa1b8efd50ea962c142a66d9.pdf . Look at figure 5 on page 7 (page 4 of the PDF) and then page 10-11 (page 6 of the PDF) for the bobbin winding directions.

I hope this helps.

The Balance Wheel and the Clutch Release knob will not tighten together again after filling a bobbin. How do I fix this?

THERE IS A SMALL SCREW AT THE MIDDLE KNOB ON THE HAND WHEEL THAT YOU NEED TO LOOSEN. AFTER THAT TIGHTEN THE HAND WHEEL KNOB JUST AS YOU WOULD WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO SEW. NOW, TIGHTEN THE SMALL SCREW. YOUR MACHINE SHOULD BE OK FOR SEWING AND YOUR BOBBIN WINDING.

The needle on my sewing machine doesn't move? The needle and handwheel on my Brother LX2500 machine will not move when I press the foot pedal. Everything else seems to be working fine. I can hear the motor...

If the balance wheel is moving when you press on the control then it needs tightening, if the balance wheel does not turn when you press on the control and you can hear the motor spinning then the belt is broken

White sewing machine model 1805 can't get it to sew the wheel turns and belt is ok . It is like the wheel is frozen Do you change it after filling a bobbin?

If I recall correctly, to fill a bobbin you must first release the belt from the wheel by loosening the knob on the small machine wheel. Then after the bobbin is filled you need to tighten that knob again. Do you have the manual?

Brother VX1435, needle won't move

some machines when the bobbin winder is engaged will not sew, do you
have to disengage the center wheel in the handwheel to wind a bobbin?
or do you have to just move the bobbin winder spindle to the right to
wind the bobbin?
do you have a manual for the machine?

Threading bobbin on singer stylist 522

To wind a bobbin put the cotton reel on the top pin, take the thread to the left and round the little wheel and back to the bobbin that should be on the winder, wind the thread round a few times to take a grip, release the stop motion in the balance wheel, turn the winder button so the winder moves to the balance wheel and press on the foot control slowly.
When you put the bobbin in the bobbin case make sure it turns anti clockwise.

Can't tighten clutch on Kenmore zig zag sewing machine.

The clutch has fallen off the shaft. Remove the very small screw in the clutch release screw to remove the clutch release. Place the clutch(round thing with ears on it) back on the shaft with the center ears pointing towards the outside. Put the clutch release screw back on. Tighten it to make sure it works
properly. Put the small screw back in the clutch release screw and test it again. If it will not tighten or release properly, remove the clutch ,rotate it180 degrees and try it again. This should solve your problem.

Brother sewing machine

I have only a cheap one (VX-1100), but when this is happening on mine, the stop-motion knob isn't fully engaged with the balance wheel. They are held together by one being tightened to the other for sewing, loosened for bobbin winding. Michael
