There is a problem at the connection for your PS3; either the cable is internally cut or the lan port at PS3 is damaged. Check again if the RJ jacks at the end of the cable are firmly connected. Also, if possible, use the cables vice - versa. I mean the one with the problem that you used for PS3, use it to connect the PC. Is it working?

Try a different slot on the router,
If no change then try a new ethernet cable.
If still no change you should call Sony to trouble shoot your ps3

I need to know where to plug the big yellow phone cord. One end goes in the top plug in the back of the router and where does the other end go? In the back of the motorola motem? What else is supposed to...

Hello,
The cord you are referring to is a CAT5 network cable. The color isn't important, but they usually ship the routers with color cords to help with the installation. Typically you would have the following setup:

1. A CAT5 network cable that runs from your broadband modem TO your Belkin Wireless Router in the "Internet" port. (Port "a" in the diagram)
2. Now plug another CAT5 network cable in to the back of your computer's Network Interface Cord TO one of the remaining ports on your Belkin Wireless (Any of the port "b" in the diagram).

However, you will need to run the configuration software that come with your router.

Please let me know if I can further assist you.

KYTechnology

How to hook up tv with internet hard wired to existing router with wireless connection to computer ip address on computer will not connect tv to internet help

Assuming that you have an "IP" TV, run an Ethernet cable from the TV to one of the LAN ports on the router.

Run another Ethernet cable from your computer to one of the other LAN ports on the router.

Both the TV and the computer should now have Internet access.

Do you have a third computer that has a "wireless" connection to the router?

I have a belkin router i am having trouble connecting it. i dont know where to connect the ethernet cable. Does it go the computer or the modem?

the ethernet cable should be connected to the ethernet port of the router to the ethernet/network port of the computer. you will also need to connect a cable through the router and the modem, then a phone cable from the modem to the phone line.

I am trying to hook up a belkin router to a desk top, gateway. with no success been on the phone with belkin for 4 hours, unsuccessful

i hope your not talking about the wireless router.....

unplug your computer from the modem, and link the modem's Ethernet port to your router's WAN port (this is important). Once you have that in place (and you may see a WAN status light come on), plug your computer into one of the other Ethernet ports using another Ethernet cable and see if you can get a connection........

Need to hook up Belkin G wireless router to Motorola SB5120

Plug your cable line into your modem, make sure it's tight, but don't use a tool. Next plug the ethernet line from the modem to your PC ethernet port. Then plug in your power to the modem. Allow your modem to sync. Don't use the USB line at all. Do not even hook it up unless your computer doesn't have a working ethernet line. Don't run the disk either, it will only install the modem driver that is only used if you use USB.

If you have issues connecting after that, you may have to go into your ethernet adapter settings and make sure that it is using DHCP. DSL usually uses a different setting (PPP I think) and you will not be able to connect.

By the way, excellent choice in modems.
