Try updating the drivers in your system Also check with Aspire to see if there are any BIOS updates you need to install. To update drivers do not use ANY driver update software, instead download them from Aspire and install one at a time.

Icons keep freezing on my desktop on my laptop which is medion akoya

You didn't post the OS you are using, so I will give you a Win 7 suggestion. Start by cleaning and speeding up your Machine by eliminating unnecessary start up processes. Download these freeware programs, 1, CCLEANER at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This freeware program has many useful tools, the cleaner will remove the junk from your machine and free up disk space. In the TOOLS section, STARTUP section, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs. 2, MALWAREBYTES at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL Scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Here are more tips on increasing speed in Win 7: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2364937,00.asp ALSO run a FULL scan with your up-to-date Anti Virus Software. Run Windows Update to install the latest updates. Post results for further assistance.

Why is my screen forever freezing up on me

That can result from a virus attack. The viruses are capable of filling up your memory and makes computer operations very slow and eventually freeze. Or it can be a result of a failing hard drive. I suggest that you install an antivirus software, update it and run a full system scan. Restart your computer

Dell xps m1530 with intel core duo keeps freezing

To further investigate the issue you may do the following.

1.go to control panel --> administrative tools then select event viewer. check on system logs. you might be able to find a clue on why the notebook keeps on freezing after 15 to 20 minutes.

2.please check your virus definitions if its fully updated. If not please update it then do a full scan afterwards.

3. do a windows update on your system if it's not fully updated yet.

4. You may also check or try to remember what has been installed lately. It might be that the application installed have caused vista to freeze.

Or you may also check this link for another user who has the same issue.

Just installed latest update and my system keeps freezing

mikemattok

If you system keeps freezing after you installed your system updates it is possible that you did not get a clean install of the update and your hard drive has corrupted data on it. The link below will help you address this. Note if you still have trouble then you have a more serious hard ware problem.

Try to restore this to an earlier time using system restore, it should keep all of your files, but if you installed something recently it will not be there and many times this is the simplest solution.

If you have the recovery cd, boot your laptop with the recovery cd in it and follow the screen and recover your system to factory settings than it should be ok.
