It is looking for your installation CD. Put it in your CD drive and point to it, probably D:\

It's a common problem with office 2003, Seems the server sometimes get overloaded when updating and cuts down the connection, my recommendation is for you to wait and update office late at night or update early in the morning, office will get updated with no problems at low traffic times. you can also try to click ok until it can get a response from the server and it will get you office up to date.

Your computer is probably looking for it where it was originally installed from. You can find it on your original install disk in the main directory. It will be called PRO11.MSI.

Hello,

Thank you for using fixya. I am very glad to answer your concern.

It seems that there are some missing components for your ms office 2003 pro. What can do is to insert the MS office CD 2003. And just let it run and it will load up all the necessary files needed for your computer to do some tasks.

It should be the MS office 2003 Pro installation cd.

Thank you for trusting fixya,

Have a nice day ahead.

Hi there.
Its looking for Office 11 to update and you probably have not got the installer (.msi) file on the PC.
All you have to do is skip that particular update.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

PROBLEM OF PRO11.MSI

Go to start menu, run, then type 'excel' and hit enter, the installation menu will start but you can just cancel it. To me, the installation will start again and again but I cancel it as Book 1 excel already opens. Then you can double-click any excel file that you want and open it. It worked for me! :)
