Question about Toshiba Satellite P305DS8836 Notebook

1 Answer

Every 2 to 3 days my wireless connection from Toshiba P305 fails. It says something like no connection available. I have to manually reconnect to print. Any suggestions for fixing problem so that it won't lose the wireless link every couple of days.

One option ,it might sound ridicoulous is connect by cable,if your having problems and you need a reliable fix>theres a few reasons for this one could be a bad ISP

Agreed it might be a bad ISP or it might be in the laptop itself. I've been making a copy of the printer setup to workaround. That gets old after the 3rd or 4th copy. The thing that makes me wonder if the problem is not ISP related is that my backup laptop doesn't have this problem nearly as often (maybe once every other month or so). The Toshiba it seems is every other day.

something seems to be resetting ,yeah.the configuration code for example now this most certainly can happen after a crash and power interruption although most modern operating systems allow for recovery so theres that issue apart from the bad ISP connection perhaps

If you have less than about 25% of disk space available defragmentation may not be possible. You would have to clear some space. As to make its graohics faster that is nother question:It will depend on the graphics card and the Vram it has or has access to.

Change video output to s vedio connection

If the computer does not easily and automatically show the computer screen on the tv through the S-video output, make sure the tv is switched to S-Video and Hold down the Fn + F5 keys to toggle through the video output manually on the laptop. Just make sure that only one video source is connected at a time. Your laptop will not support two output sources at the same time. Below is the user manual in which it discusses the use of an external device on page 70.

I have an excellent connection to city wifi but no web page.

Windows WiFi Fix,
Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.
Windows XP:
Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.
