If your Xbox is laying down.. first try standing it up or vise versa

if this doesn't fix your problem... contact microsoft and they will repair your console free of charge and send it back to you in about 3 weeks.

hope this helps :)

Tray won't close

Use the following steps to close the disc tray on an original Xbox 360 console.
Step 1: Remove the disc from the tray Step 2: Make sure the faceplate is on correctly
The faceplate is the plastic piece on the front of your console.
  • Press firmly around the edges of your faceplate to snap it into place (make sure it is flush with the rest of the console). If the faceplate is not on correctly, the disc tray won't close.
  • If you find that the faceplate is the problem, please contact Xbox Support to order a replacement faceplate.
If this does not resolve your issue, please try step 3. Step 3: Press the eject buttonTry closing the disc tray by pressing the eject button. If the disc tray successfully closes, open the tray and insert a disc. Now try opening and closing the tray with a disc in the tray.
Note Make sure that the disc isn't sticky and doesn't have any labels that could prevent the tray from closing.
If your disc drive still will not close, please try step 4. Step 4: Move the disc drive tray

Disc tray wont open when eject button pressed on ps2

The disc tray motor needs to be replaced. You can find one on ebay. A relatively easy fix. Good luck!

Xbox 360 open tray message; not reading discs

If it won't play any games it might be the laser that reads the disk. I would suggest getting it checked out somewhere.

Sounds like your disc tray is jamming. Maybe it was moved while running with a disc inside?
If you contact the shop you got it from they will be able to give you the manufacturers phone number or website so that you can order a new drive.

Or you could open it up, remove the drive and attempt to unjam the disc

I have repaired my red rings the xbox is running and everything is great except for...my disc tray will not open at all. I tried going on the dashboard and opening the disc tray this way and it still will...

If you hear the motor trying to open it then slap the top
firmly as you press eject that should break it free ,
If that's the case it's just hanging up on the front flange.
You know what that means ... Take it apart again and clear
the snag . if you don't hear the motor then the
power cable to the drive got pulled lose ether way
you gotta strip it again. Thats kinda easy .

Hope that helped a little

I put the disc in then its just says open tray.

Key what happens is that the disc tray doesn't close all the way. Take it to any place that fixes video game systems and they will fix it good as new.
