take out the bottom rack, pop out the center. use a snake on the drain. if not aviable us a wirer coat hanger. the water should go down. to top it off ad some draino or something like that. but rises your dishes before you put it in the dishwasher. remember a dishwasher is not a garbage disposal. run the dishwasher again i wish nothing in it. that will flush out the drain. then your good.

Water collects on the bottom shelf and does not drain into the defrost pan. It leaks out on to the floor. If I remove the round plug on the bottom shelf, it then drains into the defrost pan. Should I...

the drain nozzle or hose has blocked...a algae can grow in the drain system...push a flexible wire or plastic down the drain system or just sprinkle a little draino or a little chlorine into the drain collector so it will kill the algae.

The last 3 times after using my top load Kenmore clothes washer, a mud spot (1/2" diameter) keeps reappearing in the bottom of the cylinder. Should I use draino to clean the drainage system or clean the...

DO NOT use Draino or any other drain clog removal chemicals to clean a washer. It could damage the tub seal, drain lines and/or pump & impeller. If you wish to clean the washer, you need to access the drain pump and remove the drain lines and flush them out. The following link explains how you can access and remove the pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3794382-replacing_water_pump_whirlpool_top

I would recommend you UNPLUG the washer and take it to a location where you can flush water through it. Preferrably outside, or in a garage. If you lie the drain hose on the floor and fill the wash tub with a garden hose, simple gravity will flush water through the tub basin, drain pump and drain lines.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: The drain pump has only one moving part (the impeller). It is a common place for debris to collect. Remove the two drain hoses on the pump to inspect.

There is a plastic piece under the top that is connected to the drain line. It looks to be all clogged up and the waher won't drain. How can this be cleaned out?

use a piece of wire maybe a coathanger or something. or a plumbers snake might work or maybe some wicked cleaner stuff like draino might work but that might be bad for some plastic. vinagar works too but take a long time overnight at least.

if you have checked the drain in the bottom of the dishwasher and it is clean, then you have a plumbing problem. maybe try pouring some draino down in the dishwasher to clean out the hoses
