Generic problem for all Home Theater Systems

Best Buy techs came out to install recently purchased Bose V20 system. System is great but when I connect my Bose Noise Reduction headphones, I have to turn the volume up on the V20 remote control to get decent volume even though the system sounds perfect without the headphones connected. Are there settings I need to adjust so that the volume on the headphones matches the volume on the speakers?

Just wondering if anyone can give me some help with this problem? I have to turn the volume up to 75 to get decent sound level and I'm not hard of hearing.
