Question about Panasonic REGION FREE SCHT700 5 Disc DVD Home Theater PAL&NTSC System
No sound only one speaker works hooked up to direct tv reciever works fine when playing dvd
Without seeing the machine and checking test points with a scope, all I can suggest at this point is that the switching chip is faulty. The DVD input will be routed through the surround sound processing section as well. Any problem with either the logic or switching can cause a symptom like this. This problem is not likely to be resolved remotely. See an auithorized Panasonic service center and invest in a detailed service estimate. Armed with that info, we should be able to guide you through the actual repair.
