Cannot see missed calls on the display screen. Checked setting but all seems fine and all call menu tabs show nothing to display in All, Answered, Dialled and Missed.
Hope you can help with this.

K800i Secret Menu In this post I will write about a few hidden features of the K800i.
These codes should work on most Sony Ericsson models though, try for yourself.

Service Menu

The Service menu can be accessed by pressing the following sequence while in the standby screen:

right, *, left, left, *, left, *

The phone now shows a menu titled 'Service' with 5 menu items:

  • Service info : Here you can view information regarding your handset such as the model number, software versions (firmware as well as other versions, like camera driver version, etc.)
  • Service Settings : Here you can switch USB charging on or off
  • Service Tests : Allows you to test every component of your phone, such as the keypad, microphone, speaker, LED, Display, etc. Any fault can be found out easily with this method.
In this section, You can also check the Total call time, the number of hours you have called.
  • Text Labels : Better leave this section alone.
  • Discharge Flash : To discharge the camera flash fully.

In addition to the Service Menu, SE's also offer a 'Personalize' menu.
It can be accessed by the sequence
left, *, *, left

But unlike the Service Menu, the Personalize menu is for trained experts only. So it's better not to tinker with these settings. Still, it's cool to know your phone's got all these things under the hood right?

Want to see something cool?

Access the ServiceMenu. Now Navigate to Service Info > Model Info.

While the Model is displayed, press the folowing key sequence :

Stop thieves running up huge mobile bills by locking your Sony Ericsson K800i and protecting it with a PIN To protect your phone from unauthorised use you can set a phone lock to stop others using it.
The default phone lock code on the K800i is 0000, so it is best to change this number to one you can easily remember in case it is lost or stolen. To change your unlock code:
  • From the Menu screen, select Settings (Figure 1).
  • On the General tab, scroll down to Security (Figure 2).
  • Select Locks (Figure 3) and then Phone Protection (Figure 4).
  • Select Change Code (Figure 5).
  • Enter the default code then enter (And re-enter) your new one (Figure 6).
Once you have changed your phone lock, you can then set to either On, Off or Automatic (Figure 7). When it is turned On, you must enter your code when you turn the phone on, Off means you don't need to enter a code. Automatic means that you only enter the phone lock code when a new Sim-card is inserted into it.

From the Menu screen, select Settings. Scroll across to the Connectivity tab and select Bluetooth. Select Turn On. To connect your Sony Ericsson K800i to a handsfree device, enter the Bluetooth menu screen and select Handsfree. Your phone will then look for a handsfree device to connect to. Press and hold the 'call' (big) button on your bluetooth device. First it will blinks once, keep holding, then it will turn to steady blue. This is the 'pairing' status. The steady blue light on the device should go off and blinks every couple of seconds. Next time you switch on the bluetooth device it will be automaticaly recognized by the phone.

I work with 2x193W LCD Monitors together. One is working fine, the other is now giving me the "No signal" screen. I have checked connections and pins. Everything seems alright. What am I missing?

Open you video cards control panel and check the display settings. Check to see if it is set to duel view or single display. You can also open your display settings for your computer. Under the settings tab choose which monitor is showing no signal and make sure it has a check mark on the box that says extend my windows desktop onto this monitor.

I WANT TO KNOW TOTAL CALL TIME IN W580i

When on the home screen the left soft key takes you to your call history. This is divided into tabs, with the first default tab showing all calls and the other tabs showing incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. Each tab shows a chronological list of calls, displaying the phone number dialed. The currently selected item also shows the date and time of the call. The left soft key is assigned to call the currently highlighted item, while the right soft key opens a menu that provides additional functions. Data counters can be found in the phone settings, as well as total call timers and a message counter.
se_w580i_callhistory.jpg During a call the right soft key is assigned to end the call and the left soft key opens a menu with additional options. These options include the ability to turn the speaker phone on and off, add a call for conference calling, place the call on hold, or enable the mute function. The W580i also supports multi-tasking, so you can access other phone functions like your calendar and contacts while on a call. We found the call management feature set on the W580i to be fairly standard, with nothing that stands out, but nothing important missing, either.
