I think you have a hardware problem and need to seervice the drive, open it up and dust it out. the cmos battery shld give you 3V if its a desktop. you shld try clearing the memory with the jumper on short, then setting the time agian and see how it goes

You can create a backup copy on removable media such as a CD or DVD, a network folder or external hard drive.

Upgrade Your Tablet PC With a New Operating System

Don't know if you've solved this problem, but I was having the same issue using Windows 7, 64bit. It had been working but Explorer crashed & Explorer restarted, it recognized the device, but I couldn't access the files. I tried it on another laptop & it worked. So I left it plugged in & restarted the computer and that fixed the problem. If that doesn't work, you may have to uninstall the driver that windows automatically installed for it & then plug it back in & have windows reinstall the driver. Good luck.

I cant load anything or play anything as my cd dvd seems to have disappered, i have been in the bios and cant find anything that showes how to sort this.can you help me please. w mc kinlay.

Hi,
This may happen due to some improper connection to your hardware and may also due to device disabled in BIOS.
Soultion:
1. Enter into BIOS setup by pressing Delete key during system startup and load optimized default settings. Shortcut key for this may be 'F7'
2. If not works, then open the PC cabinet and check the bus connected to the drive. Replace it if neccessary.
3. If driver is shown in my computer but not reading cd/DVD, then use a lens cleaner cd to clean the lens surface dusts.
4. If it not working still, then its time to give it for a service.
I hope this is helpful to you.

Make my laptop region free

To change the Region code on your player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVD from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software that allows you to play DVDs from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free from ;-

Premier composite video caputer

To my knowledge, if the video feed isn't from a firewire source, or a file on a disk drive then Premiere will not recognize it. you would have to make sure the video isn't copyright protected, then have a program rip the files to your hard drive. DVD's usually store media in the .vob file format. Premiere, for legal reasons, doesn't access this type of file. you'd need some type of dvd backup software. there are many out there, some are even free.

Studio 9

Make sure that all background programs are not running on your computer. This includes, IMs, Anti virus, email programs. Defrag your hard as well. Your captured material may not be on contiuous file on the hard drive but fragmented into pieces.

What type of processor do you have in your computer and how much memory does it have?

Make sure that you run the PCI performance wizzard as wall as all calibration programs within Studio 9. Make sure that your DVD has recording enabled. This can be done by pressing my computer, pressing the right mouse button on the drive, select properties, select the recording tab, check enable CD recording on this drive. You may have to adjust the recording speed as well if the DVD player has trouble reading it.

Watching wmv files on DVd

MPEG-2 video is the file format you’ll need to convert to, but you cannot simply burn the MPEG-2 to a DVD and automatically play it in a DVD player.
The easily way is to buy software that will make the transition smooth; I recommend VSO Convert to DVD.
