Question about Samsung SyncMaster 191T 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

When my computer shuts down, the Monitor flashing green light keeps flashing. My problem is that I can not turn the Monitor "on" light off.

I removed power to the computer and to the Monitor. Both the computer and the Monitor sat off with no power for two hours. When I turned on the power to both the computer and to the Monitor, the green light was presentr and flashing. The computer was normal. Removing power to the Monitor seems not to help. My problem is still an inability to turn off the Monitor.

Its a default feature. playing with the fromt pannel may cause an early filure or malfunction.

to get if off, switch off it from the power source. or remove the power cable from back.

There are one or two capacitors that open in the power supply, sometimes it will have a bulge at the top, making it easy to spot.

Starlogic 20 inch widescreen monitor screen keeps going black

This is probably a back light problem. Take a bright flashlight and while the monitor is on, point it at the LCD and try different angles, etc. If you can see an image, it is the back light, probably the back light voltage converter unit in the lcd. It could also be the back light bulbs.

If you don't see an image with the flash light, then it could be the main logic board.

Takes to long for the monitor to start

This is a power supply problem in the monitor. There is an unstable component or components that are failing or you have some cold solder joints in the connections. The reason it turns on is that some components are self healing and will sometimes stabilize after warm-up periods.Cold solder joints sometime close after heating up in the circuit You should return to dealer for repair or replacement. Hope this helps you.

I think you have loose cabling somewhere. Try to unplug (and untangle) the video cables and then plug them all back together firmly. If this does not work and you know your machine is booting up properly, you might have damaged the monitor somehow accidentally.

Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.

Try first unplugging the monitor and the computer from the wall for 12 to 24 hours. If this does not work, hook up another monitor to the puter to see if the problems with the puter or the monitor.
