Question about Samsung 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 32MB HD103UJ 334 GB SATA Hard Drive

Formatting my hard drive for macbook pro!

Hi there, I have recently brought a Samsung 1TB SATA 7200rpm 32mb cache hard drive which I have put in a external drive casing. I want to format it so I can dump most of the stuff from my apple Macbook Pro on it so I can keep my mac running at almost full speed. I was also going to turn my time machine on and keep my back up files on it, but can't seem to see it when I go into Time machine. Please help, I know a little about computers but not that much!

I am trying to install my 1tb s2 samsung potable hard drive on my laptop but i wont install it

external HDD are plug and play devices and will be recognized automatically, the problem detecting large capacity drives like this relies on what type of hardware you are using (laptop itself). what I am trying to point is that old laptop only recognize lower capacity drives and thus have this issue.
but if you are using the latest hardwares and OS, just let me know so that i can pin point the problem.

Error Hard drive reports a read error

Try doing a system restore, if that does not work. Check The cable that connects motherboard to Hard drive, it's a bad cable, or a bad broken Hard drive on your hands.

Take out the hard drive.
At the back of the hard drive you will find a jumper. pull it out and change the location or put it at the end.
connect the hard drive and check.

Hard disk beeps at startup

Hi,

It can most likely be fixed, the only question is how much effort.

If' you're luck either the AC adapter or the circuit board in the Casing is dead. If you stop in at your local computer shop(assuming you don't have the tools at home) you can test the AC adapter with a multimeter. If it tests normal, then try moving the HDD into a new enclosure and test it.

If neither of the first two suggestions works then the issue lies in the circuitry of the actual hard drive. At this point you will need the help of a pro, if this is the case, comment back here with your country/state/city and I will recommend a pro in the region.

How do i reformat C drive and keep my files on sata backup

dis connect the sata cable that attaches the sata hard drive to the pci card and then format c and re install with all the drivers you require for the pci card as well as motherboard drivers, network card drivers etc and then re attach the sata cable that way you dont get confused between which drives its showing if it manages to display the sata drive at boot up.

If tou can find it in booting time on bios screen, Just goto,,, start>control panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>storage>disk management. You should see the new drive. Click on it and try import foreign disk . it should bring the disk. try making new oartitions there.
