You're in the BASE-N mode, which allows you to do integer arithmetic and logic in a variety of bases. To get out, press MODE and then select the desired mode. 1 is for "normal" computations, 2 is for complex arithmetic, 3 is for statistics, 4 is the BASE-N mode, 5 is for equations, 6 is for matrices, 7 is for tables, and 8 is for vectors.

That is normal: In binary numeration you only have two digits 0 and 1. Get the calculator out of BASE-n calculation mode.

Press [MODE] and select 0:COMP the general calculator mode.

If you're already in decimal mode, press SHIFT BIN to switch to binary mode.

To convert a number from decimal to binary, press MODE 4 to switch to BASE-N mode. You'll find yourself in decimal mode. Enter the number to convert, press =, then press SHIFT [BIN] (the log key) and see the number in binary. To convert another number, press SHIFT [DEC] to return to decimal, enter the number, press =, then press SHIFT [BIN]. An analogous process works for hexadecimal and octal as well.

To return to "normal" use, press MODE 1 for COMP mode or MODE 2 for complex mode.

Sorry but this calculator cannot do calculations in other numerations just decimal. To make sure examine the calculator looking for markings like BIN OCT HEX. If you do not find any (and you will not) then you can be sure that it does not perform base conversions.

Press right-shift [BASE] 1.

Right-shift is the blue shift key just above the ON key. BASE is on the 1 key.

That's the Binary code. You have to change it back to the Decimal code.
Try to change it back with the shift and Mode buttons
