I would suggest shutting down at least once a month for general maintenance such as dusting the fans off and cleaning the computer case.

If you are running for 6 months straight with out a single shut down that is negligence on your behalf to your computer & to the hardware inside. A lot of dust that accumulates may not seem like much to you but the amount that does accumulate will damage the hardware given enough time.

I hate to think of how much dust is accumulated inside it I like to give my PC a light cleaning each month. Generally a few quick hits with a compressed air canister is enough to keep the PC dust free.

My Dell Precision 670 randomly reboots. I thought it may be the power supply, but it seems to only happen when I use Firefox not IE; but that could be a coincidence. And occasionally, the reboot is quite...

Before you go to the trouble of changing/repairing the motherboard. You say that in IE its ok but when in firefox you get the reboots. If this is the case then i suggest you disable all the add-ons you have in firefox and see if this solves the problem. if it does then enable the add on's one at a time until you find the one thats causing the reboots.
I cant say that i have ever heard of firefox causing this type of problem. You dont say what version you are using. maybe if you uninstall firefox and install the latest version it may cure it.

This usually indicates a problem with a driver. When you say it is ok at first does it actually load in to Windows and then randomly blue screen to this error? If this is the case then there should be an "error code" that looks something like "000000000x##) where the ## is there should be a letter and a number(i.e. 1e) depending on what that number is will help determine which driver is the issue. Once we've determined the driver in question it should be a matter of reinstalling the driver in question and see if this resolves this issue.
Though the computer is a little long in the tooth and if the hardware is failing it may be more cost effective to recycle your computer and purchase a new one.

Eee 1005ha keyboard and touchpad suddenly freezes at random times

Mine does the same. I don't know what it is. It's not that it's frozen up because every program I'm running continues to run and when I press the power off button it brings up the choices to turn off restart or stand by.

Dell Inspiron 1501 random freeze

If you can take the unit apart, check the LVDS cable from the mother board to the Formatter/T-con assy. a good cleaning with alcohol should work.

I just purchased an LG Lotus and the phone continues to reboot itself. It will turn on for about 1 min and then reboot while it is plugged in.

We just bought this phone today and after a few hours, it just started rebooting randomly. We were getting ready to return the phone, and then updated the firmware and now have no more reboots. Here are the steps for a firmware update:
  1. From the Home icon select, the OK/Menu button
  2. Go to Tools
  3. Scroll down to Update Phone (or press #) and press OK
  4. Select Updated Firmware (or press 1)
  5. Follow onscreen instructions
After the download completes, the firmware package is installed. For the last several hours, we've had no more reboots or power downs.
