How to I play a cd on my sharp gt=cd180-?

Sure you are using a real CD, not one you did burn yourself in a PC?
Not all CD payers are compatible with CD's you burn yourself.
Try a "real" CD, one that was bought in a music store. If that also does not play, please let me know.

Hi I have a Telefunken CD player - I have burnt mp3's and 3wav files but it does not recognise these formats -- please advise what format I need to burn my CD-R disks. Thank You. Chris.

Hello!
First you need to find out if your CD player plays CD-Rs, and if so, does it also play MP3s and WAV files. A simple way to do this is by looking it up in the manual. If you don't have a manual, try looking for your model on their website.
Next, make sure that you set your CD- burning software to burn a DATA disk. If you have the option, you could also burn a MP3 disk. Data disks have always worked for me.
Drag and drop (or Copy and Paste) your files into your burning software. Once you're satisfied with the songs on it, hit BURN or Write to Disk.
If your CD player does NOT play MP3s/WAVs, then you have to burn an AUDIO CD. Keep in mind, you can only add about 80 minutes of music to an audio disk.
I recommend using Nero to burn your CDs. It is one of the best burning software I have used. This should work. If in doubt, try this tutorial.

Cd burner

You'll need to make sure CD/DVD allows for burning and not just playback. If you know the make and model of your CD/DVD burner google it to make sure it has that option. If you don't know it then click on Start>All Programs>accessories>system tools>system information and look for CD/DVD. Or send me the make and model and I'll check it out for you. First we have to make sure you have the option before we can troubleshoot, not all DVD players allow you to burn them, some just allow playback.

Don't forget to rate this solution.

I am having a problem with my Pioneer DVR-K17a drive. It will not read any DVDs for either burning or playing. The drivers are up to date.

Be sure that the DVD's are the right ones to burning. Be sure also that your drive is compatible with them. If everything is ok and still does't work your drive must be replaced.

Playing the cd's produced on my jvc stereo system

If you took the same steps, then obviously, it should work the same. However, there are many factors that could cause it to not play. You can try a different CD-R burning program. Also, some stand alone CD players do not play CDR's. So make sure your CD player can handle this. Also make sure your not burning an MP3 CD or similar. Make sure you also close the disc when it is done, and leave a 2 second gap between each song. Lastly, try burning at a slower speed - such as 4x - believe it or not, burning at a higher speed does affect your CD's playing options, especially on older CD players. Hope this helps! - Justin DJPROAUDIO
