Whar has happened is that your unloader / bypass valve is sticking. This is due to minor corrosion and having water in the unit over the winter. Most of the time they will sanp out it if you do the following:

Add 3 - 4 oz of oil into the water supply connection and briefly and I mean very briefly switch on the unit then right back off. Add more oil to the water supply connection and then let it sit overnight.

Then next day turn the unit on briefly and let it sit another 30 minutes. After this you connect all hoses making sure to purge the air our of the supply hose BEFORE you connect the to the unit. Then once you turn the unit on rapidly trim cycle the wand trigger. Your goal here is to cause a water hammer of the unloader / bypass valve to get the spring and cupped seal to move in the housing. Pause briefly and see if pressure builds then fan the wand trigger again. This can take a few minutes to get it to work but the routine of pausing waiting momentarily and rapidly tripping the wand trigger is what should get the unit going again.

If this does not work you will have to take the unit apart dis-assemble the unloader / bypass vavle on the output side of the pump and remove the corrosion on the spring and the housing.

Once your done cleaning up the bypass unloader valve before you put it back in the housing place a liberal amount of Lubriplate #105 White Grease on the spring and inside the housing on the mating surfaces. (#105 white grease is available at any Auto Parts store. It is in a 3 - 5 oz plastic tube)

Re-assemble the unloader / bypass valve an it should work like a champ.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Just a note on the symptom you would see if the unit had frozen. It would substantially leak internally with both hoses connected and the water supply on. The pump housing most likely would have a crack in it, hence you would note the leaks.

Chuck I am just doing a follow up to see if you got your unit going. I will tell you that I have brought back to life about 85% of the pressure washers presented to me for repair by doing exactly as I instructed you. The others required tear downs / cleaning and or parts.

I stored my FH50220 in my storage unit over the winter and now it will not spray water

If your storage unit got below freezing it may have frozen and damaged something. It's hard to drain all of the water from pumps, tubes, valves, heaters etc. inside a carpet cleaning machine. If a machine must be stored where it may freeze one way to keep it from freezing up is to pour automobile windshield washing solution into the fresh water tank and run it through the machine until it comes out all of the Jets and cleaning attachments. Remove the fresh water tank and continue to run the solution through the machine to flush the windshield cleaner out of the machine. Be sure to use a cleaner with the proper anti-freeze rating and run fresh water through the machine before using it to clean carpets.

Suzuki outboard motor

Unfortunately for you, the motor is out of warranty and lower units are not supposed to be cracked under any circumstances other than striking very hard some underwater obstruction. IF water was present when the motor was put away last winter, it would have frozen, expanding in the confinement of the gear housing and causing the metal casing to CRACK. Water WILL then be able to intrude the gear casing and mix with the lube oil in the lower unit leading to a breakdown if you run it without having it replaced. Get it serviced as soon as possible or, at least, get a service estimate without using it further or you'll experience a catastrophic gear failure in the lower unit and find yourself defintely looking for a new motor.

I have a coleman powermate pmp400-t inverter 400w/800w will it power a sump pump? I tried it and it beeped and the fault light came on

Hello, the answer is no. This inverter will work with a pump that below or about 400 watts power for operation. I notice it says that the inverter 400w/800w. The 800 watts is the surge required to get an electric motor to run. On a single phase motor (120 AC) and it take 4 amperes to operator this motor. But to start the it will 12 amperes to start it. This is one reason why on a lot of electrical motors there will be a big tube or can, this is the starting capacitor, it stores energy in form of current (amperes) to drop across the windings of the motor when it starts. If some electric motors didn't have this capacitor. The most likely scenario would be tripping a breaker because it drawing to much current.

Now, for you problem. Example of Power and the unit of the formula is V (volt), R (resistance) I (current) P (power) Ohm's states that :

f9ae53a99f2b2b6a74146fb04fb3ff73.png

Now Power would be stated: P = V times(x) I. Therefore in your case, if the pump at normal operation is drawing 4 amps of current for operation pumping water. The power factor would be 120 V AC (house voltage) times (X) I (current) which 4 amps. So here is what you have: P = 120 X 4 equal= 480 watts.

Therefore, your inverter will not work because it operating at 80 watts more than the power inverter can deliver which is 400 Watts.

If you need to purchase a new power inverter, remember always take into account the Amperes required for operation. Just by the simple Ohm's Formula. Best of Luck. GB....stewbison

Call any appliance parts store in your area, you'll need the make and model of the unit and since you already have the part #, you should not have any trouble. I believe Sears Appliance Parts store carries this brand.
Good Luck!!

Due to vibration, it is very common for 1 or both of the wires to fall the switch. Also, due to placement of the switch, it can also fail due to water running down the inside of the generator housing as well.

Refrigerators do not work correctly in the winter in unconditioned space.
It is too cold for the unit to run normally. The compressor oil gets sluggish and strains the compressor when it does run.
The thermostat never warms enough for the unit to come on and run.
Therefore the temperatures in fresh food and freezer stay at the top end of the set point. This would cause about 42-43 in fresh food and around 18-25 in the freezer.
In the spring time it should start running correctly again.
